So far, all the ones I know that have taken the offer were over 60 and planning to retire in the next year or two anyway. After mulling it over, they decided that they didn't need to hang around to enjoy the hostile work environment.

If you had bosses (quite a fantasy) that called you "lazy" and said you were ripping off the company and were asking you multiple times a day to resign, you'd consider it a hostile work environment too.

As for working from home, I haven't done that in over a year, even though I'm allowed to. There is about 10-20 percent of my job I can't do from home as I need to access our secured servers and documents that don't leave the office. It's only about a 7-10 drive to our office, so it's no big deal. As for others in my office, they mostly work in the office about 4 days a week as they have similar needs to access our secure servers and can't do that from home. In any event, studies have shown that employees actually get more work done while teleworking than in the office.

I can't vouch for customary business at the Treasury Department, but if I mess up my timesheet codes (and there are hundreds, many with very minor differences) for working days, working nights, working Sundays, working Sunday nights, working holidays, time off for holidays, earning comp time, earning comp time when traveling, using comp time, using comp time from traveling, sick leave, annual leave, etc, then I don't paid until I correct it.
