Movielover going from Trump is a hero to well, he's talking about Palmer's member, so let's get back to racism to close up this election cycle

VOTE BLUE

Did she fail the bar? Did she truly not meet normal test scores required to gain admission to Hastings? Did she pretend to come from a disadvantaged household to gain admission to Hastings? Did her lies take up a spot of a more deserving applicant?
I think we need better evidence than an amuse tweet.

We can certainly confirm the following:

1) Kamala comes from wealthy parents who are professors;
2) Hastings had a 45% admittance rate;
3) She was part of the pre-orientation Legal Education Opportunity Program, which helped law students from disadvantaged communities navigate the stringent demands of law school;
4) First time CA Bar Exam takers from Hastings pass at a 70% rate; and
5) Kamala failed the CA Bar.

Those are the facts. YW.

I've heard of folks who don't pass the bar the first time, which include Michelle Obama, Pete Wilson, JFK Jr and Jerry Brown.

But apparently the alleged LSAT score of below 140 is below average, or poor. So getting such a score and getting into a top-10 law school is a real stretch.

Apparently the median score is 152. (Answering just 60% of questions correctly.)

https://www.princetonreview.com/law-school-advice/lsat-scores

Low-ranking law schools with median test scores in the 140s include several in Puerto Rico.

Politico: "She was part of the pre-orientation Legal Education Opportunity Program (LEOP), which had been founded in 1969 to help law students from disadvantaged communities navigate the stringent demands of the first-year curriculum."

Jerry Brown failed the Bar and he is plenty smart.

I know this is "Whataboutism" and that it is always wholly irrelevant to compare and contrast the respective intelligence of the two candidates running for POTUS…..but here we go:

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Trump had the understanding of "a fifth- or sixth-grader."

-White House chief of staff John Kelly called Trump "an idiot."

-Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in November 2017 that Trump was "like an 11-year-old child."

-Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in July 2017 called Trump a "moron."

-McMaster also said Trump was a "dope" with the intelligence of a "kindergartner."

-Both Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus called Trump an "idiot."

-Former economic adviser Gary Cohn said Trump was "dumb as sh@it." An e-mail "purporting to represent the views of Gary Cohn" circulated the White House that read, in part:
"It's worse than you can imagine. An idiot surrounded by clowns. Trump won't read anything not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers; nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored. And his staff is no better. Kushner is an entitled baby who knows nothing. Bannon is an arrogant pr@ick who thinks he's smarter than he is. Trump is less a person than a collection of terrible traits . . . I am in a constant state of terror and shock."

Nancy Pelosi: "I've had a lot of conversations with this man," she wrote, "and at the end of nearly all of them, I think, 'Either you are stupid, or you think that the rest of us are.'"

Working with Trump is "like trying to figure out what a child wants" White House deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh

The White House has become an adult day care center"Republican senator Bob Corker of Tennessee

Tom Barrack Jr., a fellow billionaire and one of Trump's closest associates, reportedly told a friend that Trump was "not only crazy,he's stupid."

I stump people when I ask them why they support Biden or Harris. Some are idealogically Democrat. Others hate Trump.

Most have no idea of the death toll in Ukraine (compliant media). Few realize that Biden-Harris freed funds to Iran, and Iran funds worldwide terrorism. Educated people have no idea of how beneficial NK is to Russia. My DC professor friend is dismissive of NK, but he also didn't know Dr. Jordan Peterson or Dr. Victor Davis Hanson.

The turn of Democrats to NeoCons is quite baffling. Trump could have performed better in the debate, explaining inflation, food, Green New Scam, and how it affects diesel prices, nitrogen, and explained how it affects the working family, the Latino small business, etc. He doesn't practice, and / or his gut need to strike back overwhelms him. Nevertheless, many still realize how much better things were under his leadership. McDonalds was a winner, eating the cats not so much.

Trump could be better and we need a normal opposition to hold him accountable on real things instead of all the non-stop attacks. One can argue that Trump doesn't strike back enough since he would waste all his time addressing nonsense which is what the opposition wants.

I hope it's not a sign of desperation -- or if it is, please let it be an unfounded one -- the fact that the Harris campaign (including the Vice President herself) is going full on Trump-is-an-existential-threat right now, 12 days before the election.

Far less than half the voters even know what "existential" means. Nor do they care.
Maybe it turns out that this was the right argument, but personally I'm not a fan of this shift. It's too close to the same argument Biden was making (not very successfully) before he dropped out. Seemed to me that the earlier approach of just making fun of him while pushing your own domestic agenda was better.
The "existential threat" argument is a bad one because it is both not believable and untrue. The country and democracy survived 4 years of Trump - just like it will survive 4 years of Biden, 4 more years of Trump (if he wins), and 4 years of Harris (if she wins). These are stupid claims that fire up the base (inclusive of the many far left people on the board). Some republicans, including Trump, make similar arguments. Its red meat, but does nothing to convince swing voters and probably alienates them.
Wanted to respond to this point: I was someone who was very worried about Trump being the rise of a fascist/authoritarian movement in the US, and maybe on some level he is (depending on your POV), but about a year or so into it I decided that he probably wasn't dedicated or competent enough to pull that off. That said, given Jan 6th and the subsequent challenges/attempts to overturn the results of an election he clearly lost I still personally think the risk of such under Trump is higher than it should be. Even if it's just up to a 5% chance versus the ordinary 1%, that's still too high. I could never support such a candidate.

But that said, electorally I think all the possible juice has already been squeezed out of that turnip. The people still deciding (those lonely few) probably care more about other stuff, so I don't think it's a great closing argument. Though I guess there is still time to make another one.

In my area she is now running ads with alleged Republicans saying they can't vote Republican this time (this theme has been used by other Ds in our region). The ad this morning went away from Trump the Fascist and instead painted Trump as the rich guy only helping the rich. It demonstrated to me how Harris just doesn't have much to run on. Trump is essentially an economic populist, not a Reagan Republican. And most people feel like these last 4 years have been economically hard.

Meanwhile, there is a 100% chance Harris and the NeoCons will keep us in war with Russia, and maybe a 25% chance we go to war somewhere in the middle east. Maybe higher. And maybe a 5% chance we go to war w North Korea, and a 2% chance of nuclear war.
