Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Dr Bill on KGO railed about this for decades.

When I worked in Marin I heard their Mt. Tam fire road was in poor condition; imagine a fire there or in Mill Valley. No good. Same thing for Sonoma. I traveled there 4x a month one summer and never saw a stitch of road maintained, fires that followed didn't surprise me.

Our city fire crews earn great salaries and rarely conduct controlled burns. (For safety, double the coverage crew.)

Legendary Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and her group studied immigration years ago and suggested a 5-year moratorium on all immigration to allow less-fortunate Americans to catch up.

We've seen a net decrease in immigration of 2.5 million. Many self deport. If the Democrats win the House in November they'll probably cut funding, rig elections again, stop investigations of mass fraud, and impeach Trump. If they win the WH in 2028 they open the border, flood the country, and our downfall continues.

That goes along with what I was saying elsewhere. Fewer construction workers = fewer homes and apartments being built. Lower supply leads to more competition for the limited resource = higher prices.

Also interesting to note, that according to Indeed, posted wage growth slowed to 2.08% in December, a fresh low. If advertised pay in job posting is slowing, actual wage growth will likely moderate as well. This slowdown could take some pressure off non-housing services inflation.

Exactly.

I've seen a handful of Trump voters tout the loss of government jobs in this forum.
Yet, at the end of the day this still "tanks" the U.S. economy.
Their logic escapes me.

More than 1 million jobs were cut in 2025.
This has only happened four other times in the last 32 years.

2001 - The Dot-Com Bust
2008-2009 - The Great Recession
2020 - Covid

Speaking of AI, what happens once 20-40% of the work force gets laid off? Who's going to buy all these supposedly cheaper and more efficiently made products? Nobody ever discusses that, at least not often and not with any plausible solutions. I expect that if you think homelessness is bad now, you ain't seen nothing yet.

It's funny that we see people talking about "bloated" government when the Debt is already at $38.6 Trillion.

And Trump's Big Beautiful Bill added another $4 Trillion of debt over 10 years.

These are the people that love seeing Govt jobs being cut.
Yet they fall terribly quiet about Trump's increased spending with the BBB.

Do some of these Trump voters really think that they'd be getting a $5,000 DOGE check in the mail as Trump and Musk once proposed?

These must be the same gullible fools that thought that their OT would be 100% tax free.

The OBBBA contains net spending cuts that lessen deficits. The legislation included $368 billion in spending increases and $1.4 trillion in spending reductions, which result in a net reduction of direct spending of approximately $1.0 trillion over ten years.

Not factored in is the growth rate - possibly dramatic - bc of the BBB.
