I'll take a stab….uh because some people, well like a lot of people, and countries, look at things other than the price of eggs or a packed discount mall on Black Friday in Livermore and don't like what they see?
Edit: or at the minimum are uncertain in what they see

Just the Facts for those perpetually butthurt:

2) When Trump left office, CPI was 1.4%. Peak CPI under Biden was 9.1%. It's called BIDENFLATION.

3) This is your PREDICTION. Not CURRENT REALITY.

4) Oil prices are down under Trump but you failed to give him credit in your own aptly named thread entitled, the "Official Trump Gas Price Thread."

5) Federal government job cuts and losses due to AI contributed to unemployment numbers. But most of the job growth is in the private sector and not in government unlike the Biden era.

If everything is going so great then why is the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) collapsing?
From 126.3 to 116.8 in just the last month.

This 5-year downtrend started under Biden. Give Trump some time to cook; in the meantime, make sure you're on the right side of this K-shaped economy.

You're funny.

Here are the FACTS.

A pandemic was unleashed on the world during Trump's presidency. Hence, the economic contraction. Trump's Operation Warp Speed developed treatments and vaccines for this pandemic. Biden became president. The economy opened up. Hence, the growth.

And the economy under FDR had a massive build-up for WW-2.
Are you really going to "discount" other President's economic growth in office just to make Trump look good?

The playing field after 9/11 is much more relevant . . . especially given QE from 2008 on.

Cyber Monday became the biggest online shopping day in U.S. history, with consumers spending $14.25 billion online (up 7.1% from 2024, exceeding Adobe's initial forecast of $14.2 billion).

Black Friday online sales reached a record $11.8 billion (up 9.1% from 2024).

The full five-day Cyber Week (Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday) generated $44.2 billion in U.S. online sales (up 7.7% year-over-year).

A record 202.9 million U.S. consumers shopped during the five-day period (up from 197 million in 2024), the highest since tracking began in 2017, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).

The holiday season overall is on track to exceed $1 trillion in total U.S. retail sales for the first time.

I'm aware.
He's always been a perma-bear.

But it's pretty clear who is making this economy run right now.
It's the Top 10% who make up HALF of all consumer spending.

It's not the middle class family of four in Indiana just trying to make ends meet.

I've been blessed to have experienced a number of economic cycles dating back to 1980/1981 under Paul Volker. I can't wait for 2026 when Trump appoints one of his "stooges" as Fed Chairman and they lower rates, regardless of where inflation is.

That 4.8% high from January of 2025 will be history.

The Bond Market Vigilantes will come out in full swing!

And the 2.7% CPI November was accurate?
Is that the best that Trump's Bureau of Labor Statistics can do?

How come he didn't fire anyone like he did in August for clearly reporting a bogus CPI number?
Does the man that you voted for and continue to support only care when the reported numbers make him look bad?

Apparently so.

Trust these numbers? Economists see a lot of flaws in delayed CPI report showing downward inflation

Thank you for acknowledging that you posted manipulated data. The 2.7% CPI number doesn't appear entirely accurate based on the information you posted. I did not vote for Trump, and I don't support him. I do, however, defend him against baseless attacks, and I will defend policies I agree with.

For the Trumpanzees that believed the 4.3% GDP number.
Just like they believed and "cheered" the 2.7% CPI number.

It's too bad that people can be so gullible.

Well, this is going to be delish to watch.

GDP prognostications:

BofA CEO: 2.4%

President Trump: 5-6%

Elon Musk: 10% in one quarter possible

This CEO 'debanked' President Trump after he left office, refusing to take over $1 Billion in deposits. A resident of liberal Massachusetts, he takes private jets to corporate meetings (hypocrisy).

So you're gonna do nothing but attack the messenger?

Have you bothered to ask yourself where all of the electricity will be coming from to support the growth of these Ai filled data centers?

Here, let me help educate you.

It's non-existent.

Santa Clara County currently sees 60% of its electricity consumed by data-centers. Meanwhile newly built data-centers by Stack and Digital Realty sit empty, because there won't be any electricity coming online from Silicon Valley Power (SVP) until sometime in 2028.

And yet Musk claims 10% or more GDP growth in 12 - 18 months.

Good luck with that.
