They do and they have though. Israel already is ensconced in local and state politics. For instance 37 states require their business contractors to sign a pledge of loyalty to Israel as a condition for doing business with or even being hired by the state.

So in that sense, Mamdani, the only candidate who said he would not travel to Israel as his first official trip if elected, is a lot closer to your ideal above than all the other candidates.

As I have mentioned earlier, expect Adams to drop out from the race in order to consolidate the anti-Mamdani vote towards Cuomo. Adams might be holding out for a big payout from the dozen+ billionaires that are pooling their resources against Mamdani, as he knows that as long as he is in the race (a race he cannot win at that), Mamdani will win easily.

I suspect that Mamdani will win regardless, but if the field fully consolidated that could make it interesting.

Silwa will have no impact on the outcome of the election. He has wished to be relevant for decades and, sadly for him, it just isn't in the cards.
