Hegseth was commissioned as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army National Guard after graduating from Princeton University in 2003. He participated in a number of active-duty deployments during his time in service, including operations in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq and Afghanistan. Hegseth also served in multiple staff positions in the National Guard.

Hegseth's military awards include two Bronze Star Medals, the Joint Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) and the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB). He has authored five books, including the New York Times best-seller The War on Warriors (2024).

While all the above is true, he still isn't a great pick for Secretary of Defense.


With her executive level experience running EMS in NYC, the new head of FDNY is more qualified to run the Dept of Defense than Pete Hegseth


Well that's entirely laughable, unless you're good with sending EMTs out with guns and tanks.


Said like somebody who doesn't know what executives do


An executive of one field cannot just slot into the place of an executive of another field

Going from one corp to another is the same field in my opinion. Going from EMT to War is not.

Palm does not look turned up to me and I don't see him opening and closing it at all. Find a video to prove it or he's definitely a Nazi

Please turn your hand palm up and open and close your hand while waving as you so described he's doing. Why would he be doing a "come here" motion with his whole hand?
