I'm glad I'm not on travel for the government right now. This is going to suck for those who are, as they'll have to pay for hotels, meals and possibly plane tickets on their personal credit cards with no guarantee of being reimbursed given a move like this. Good thing plane tickets are only $2.

Take the budget Obama first inherited and tweak it from there; border patrol, elderly, and fentanyl emergencg services might need more funding; no funding for DEI or flying in illegal immigrants, etc.
Obama and CONgress added a Trillion, and never took it out. CONgress hasn't passed a budget in 16 years.

So together they probably pushed 400K per year, loads of bennies, perks, privileges, a set up for the White House, international travel, Hollywood celebrities, even got their girlfriend living with them fir 16 years, and they're angry. Employers are counseled to be sensitive and respectful in matters concerning termination of employment for a variety of reasons. One, it just common decency. Two, it's good business. Three, people have very strong emotions related to their careers and the source of the financial support for themselves and their loved ones. Some people can act irrationally when they are treated disrespectfully and insensitively in the employment termination process.
Musk trash talking and giggling with the chainsaw prop has very, very bad optics and is extremely ill advised.
