No.

I'm just aware of what has FACTUALLY transpired and am much more astute when it comes to the history of Trump's tariffs, which are a TAX.

If trade wars are so easy to "win" as Trump has proclaimed, then why hasn't China bought a single soybean from the U.S. Farmer in 6 consecutive months?

If Trump's tariffs are so good for the the U.S. auto manufacturers, then why did FORD take a hit of Billions from his tariffs?

These are basic questions.
Can you not answer them???

Because the infrastructure is still being rebuilt. But yet here we are and the economy is much better then Trump haters predicted

Huh?

What does this have to do with copper mines, aluminum smelters, and farmers having to get a $12 BILLION dollar TAXPAYER BAIL OUT from Congress, because Trump's tariffs have crushed them?

Please explain your comment as it relates to tariffs.

But you repeatedly fail to address them.

Instead of making this "personal" and focusing on me and deflecting, why not look at his tariff strategy realisticaly as a TAX, rather than deflecting with "the Nobel prize economists were wrong about inflation" routine?

Has a 50% tariff on copper created any new U.S. copper mines? How about aluminum?

A Ford F-150 requires 700 lbs of aluminum to build. How did that 50% Trump tariff on aluminum help Ford?

Can you answer that?

The tariffs aren't meant to help Ford.

The Ford Mach-E is made in Mexico.
Ford had to increase the price of the Mach-E by $2,000 because of a 25% tariff.

Im surprised that it took Ai so long to come up with only ONE company.

Lolz.

And of course there's ZERO investment in additional copper mines here in the States even with a 50% tariff because it takes 28 years for a copper mine to come online.

Im happy to have helped add value once again.
Enjoy your evening.

I simply asked you some basic questions about who the tariffs are designed to protect. You were unable to answer my questions.

Meanwhile, someone else in this thread jumped in to promote a narrative about tariffs that he himself (later) found out not to be true and admitted as much.

I really enjoy discussing economics, monetary policy, and the financial markets. But it would help if people that engaged in such a discussion operated from a solid knowledge base.

He said...

A.) The tariffs were not designed to protect Ford

B,) When I asked, he did not say who they were designed to protect.

C,) He said that an aluminum tariff "should" spur investment in aluminum production.

D.) He found that not necessarily to be the case, given his example of one company embracing the tariffs, but "most companies dont"

So he literally AGREED with me.
Hope this helps your comprehension of our discussion.

Or Ford?

Have you ever considered that the auto industry has spent BILLIONS on the most efficient and optimized supply chains of any industry in the world?

Those supply chains offer consumers MORE CHOICE AT LESS COST.

Trump is America first. If your company is using supply chains outside the US, then you'll be forced to deal with tariffs. Half the goal of tariffs is to bring production back to the US. US infrastructure, US workers, US profit.

"President Trump promised economic relief for Black businesses and workers. But Black business leaders say his policies have put them under greater strain, Axios's Lauren Floyd writes.

Why it matters: Federal layoffs, tariff-related costs and a weakening labor market have hurt many Black-owned small businesses.

The Black unemployment rate has climbed to its highest level since 2021, rising three times faster than the overall rate.

Trump gutted the Minority Business Development Agency, the federal agency tasked with growing minority businesses, and rescinded a Johnson-era order requiring federal contractors to take steps to prevent racial discrimination.

White House assistant press secretary Taylor Rogers said: "President Trump promised to bring prosperity back to Main Street with an America First agenda that benefits every small business."
