He claimed that tariffs were designed by Trump to spur investment in aluminum production here.

If that were true, we'd be seeing a TON of companies investing in aluminum smelting and copper production here in the UNITED STATES.

That clearly hasn't happened.

Im puzzled why you aren't able to comprehend this.

He provided you with an example of one that is. I'm puzzled why you aren't able to comprehend this.

One company is not statistically significant.
It doesnt provide evidence of companies re-shoring back to the U.S. because of Trump's tariffs.

I'm puzzled why you aren't able to comprehend this.

And that's why they are paying tariffs. Come back to America and that goes away. I can't help you comprehend something I've explain multiple times. That's on you

Thanks.

You just admitted that Trump's tariff strategy is NOT WORKING.

Like usual, you'll spin what anyone says to fit your narrative

There's no narrative at work here other than the FACT that companies are more willing to PAY THE TARIFFS than invest in plant and equipment here in the United States.

You literally AGREED with me in your post above highlighted in black.
It's puzzling why you keep denying this.

It's literally impossible to engage in a discussion about basic ECONOMIC FACTS with you that are already in evidence.

You're obviously not interested in a genuine good-faith discussion. You never address the FACT that the tariffs are not working, as intended. Foreign auto companies are not "re-shoring" here in order to avoid a paltry 15% tariff.

You repeatedly IGNORE this fact.
Instead, you defer and deflect.

I will not be engaging with you anymore.
I tried, but it's a waste of my time.

They are working and I've said this already. If they aren't re-shoring then we are reaping the benefits of the tariffs. American companies should come back or face the tariffs.

Now about that lone winner, Century Aluminum. The new smelter plant they are building has a NIMBY problem:

State Representative Tom Gann (R-Inola) attended the meeting and told residents the project isn't a done deal.

He encouraged neighbors to take steps to raise concerns and bring the issue to the city's attention.

Gann said, "The concern is whether Oklahoma taxpayers should be compelled financially to underwrite a foreign company enterprise when there are credible allegations about that government's global conduct."

Governor Stitt has previously said the State Department of Environmental Quality will be there every step of the way to make sure the company meets the standards for clean air, clean water and other environmental factors.

"We are proud to welcome Emirates Global Aluminum to our state and excited for the generational impact this investment will have on our future. As President Donald Trump looks to onshore our nation's supply chain for critical minerals, Oklahoma is leading the way in this sector. Thanks to our pro-business environment, Oklahoma is quickly becoming the critical minerals headquarters of the United States," said Governor Kevin Stitt.

"The back of my property is north of it," said Danker. "My friends live south of it and the winds blow north and south. When they say there hasn't been a plant built in 50 years, there are reasons for it."

Residents said their biggest concerns include environmental and health risks, particularly cancer.

"When you come down to it, it's about transparency and accountability in your government. No one has told you anything or you wouldn't be here tonight," said Danker.

Bingo.

It's shocking that Trump voters voted for a tax INCREASE a second time, in the form of tariffs. So stupid. So gullible.

And the Farmers would vote to slit their throat a second time as well. I no longer sympathize with the American Farmer.

They're dumber than dumb.

No.

I'm just aware of what has FACTUALLY transpired and am much more astute when it comes to the history of Trump's tariffs, which are a TAX.

If trade wars are so easy to "win" as Trump has proclaimed, then why hasn't China bought a single soybean from the U.S. Farmer in 6 consecutive months?

If Trump's tariffs are so good for the the U.S. auto manufacturers, then why did FORD take a hit of Billions from his tariffs?

These are basic questions.
Can you not answer them???

Because the infrastructure is still being rebuilt. But yet here we are and the economy is much better then Trump haters predicted

Huh?

What does this have to do with copper mines, aluminum smelters, and farmers having to get a $12 BILLION dollar TAXPAYER BAIL OUT from Congress, because Trump's tariffs have crushed them?

Please explain your comment as it relates to tariffs.

This is how out of touch and stupid Pam Bondi is.

She seems to think that its important to be talking about Dow 50,000 in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, yet in doing so assumes that such a milestone has impacted all Americans in a positive way.

Never mind that the Bottom 50% of Americans own just 1% of the their household wealth in the U.S. equity market.

This is why Consumer Confidence in January for low income Americans is near a 5 year low. Only 55.4

Bondi is pretty dumb.
She should stay in her lane.

Notice that the usual posters here that were OUTRAGED when there was a massive 819,000 annual revision under the Biden Administration, are as quiet as a church mouse when there's even a bigger revision from BLS with Trump in office.

Your reading comprehension is poor.

The web link that highlights the bottom 50% of Americans owning just 1% of their wealth in stocks is dated Feb. 14th.

This is the first time I've posted about this FACT.
Please read more carefully so you are not prone to jumping to baseless conclusions.

Thanks.
