And I heard that only 54% of Americans read at the 6th grade level.

1. A majority of Americans cannot name a single branch of government or explain what the Bill of Rights is;

2. 24% can't name the country that the U.S. fought in the Revolutionary War;

3. 2/3 don't know what the holding of Roe v. Wade is;

4. 2/3 don't know what the Food and Drug Administration does;

5. 50% don't know each state has two senators;

6. More than 50% can't name their congressman;

7. The average voter thinks 24% of the U.S. budget goes to foreign aid (less than 1% does);

8. 18% thinks the sun revolves around the earth;

9. 50% don't know that Judaism predates Christianity

"America has been trending stupid for a long time. Now the stupid wants out of its cage, and Trump is urging it on.
..….he [Trump] ran into the total stupidity of America that embraced every dumb thing about him, and that chemically interacted with his narcissistic personality and it turned into this unstoppable force."

-Matt Taibbi

I think this means we need to find and join a chat board with a higher IQ and/or level of education.
Like, no wonder we are often so frustrated - we are debating with mental midgets!

There are a handful of people here that fit that description.

According to Elon Musk, the payment approval officers were told to ALWAYS approve payments, even to fraudulent groups or terrorist organizations!

"They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once."
Perhaps the refusal was due to DOGE officials not having had background checks done and not having security clearances. Do that and they'd have a better argument.

Quite a few of those office were unused because people were working from home and agencies were moved to smaller offices. Now that people are being ordered back to work in offices, those agencies are stuck with not having enough offices for all their employees. I know of one agency that has 1/2 of the offices and 1/3 of the parking spaces that it needs. But hey, we saved $45 million!
