they also had better candidates and not handpicked Trump stooges which were a turn off obviously. No spinning it.

Go spin in a blue tsunami Bret. You're a worthless troll just like all the other MAGA s.

There's no doubt that Affordability was the issue after all of Trump's bogus promises to bring prices down.
The WSJ Opinion piece that I posted speaks to that.

But I also think that on the sociological side, people became exhausted with all of his HATE.
They got tired of him dividing the country and never "owning" anything.

The blame game with Biden had an expiration date.
But he was too DUMB to recognize that.

Trump voters voted for America First.
They got duped.

I don't think that's what it was at all. Americans elected Trump knowing the type of person he was in that regard. This is much more about voters being bamboozled about foreign wars and affordability. Americans will ignore a lot if the cost of living is good. It isn't and Trump/Republicans paid the price.
thats an awful lot of bamboozling, if anyone was bamboozled it was Trump supporters. On the bright side this should put an end to his rallies hopefully.

Not surprising.
I guess the only thing left for Trump supporters is whataboutism.

That wasn't whataboutism. It was a connection to a shared feeling. We've all been there politically. You dust yourself off and keep on keeping on. Such is life

I've been patiently waiting ...

I heard there was a TSUNAMI that is interfering with updates.

If you were actually the republican you claim you are you wouldn't be celebrating this. Some republican losses, yes but not a total dem takeover. You've outed yourself.

Given the map, what exactly would have constituted a "total dem takeover" in your mind?

It's looking like this is the biggest midterm loss since maybe the 1940s.

Problem is, a CULT invaded the GOP awhile back ago.
Only Tillis and Massie would ever stand up to Donald Trump.
The rest of the party became *****s and sycophants for Trump.

Not my GOP.
Not the economically based, fiscally conservative, and family value GOP that I knew.

Instead, they were embracing socialism with "hand-outs" and bribes.
Does this mean I don't get $5,000 now?

Its early, but right now it looks like the HIGHER PRICES from tariffs and the war in the Middle East has not been a "small price to pay" for most American households.

Trump picked candidates are not doing well.

I stand by my statement but yes America appears to have spoken. America is great like that. I hope dems actually try to work to get things done instead of wasting the next two years talking about Trump.

Why the sudden change of heart? The only thing Trump did his first two years was steal, destroy landmarks, and insult Democrats. And Johnson kept the House out of session to protect Trump and Hegseth. Oh yeah, Trump did start a terribly ill-advised war.

Bingo. I said it before the elections that nothing much of substance will change regardless of which party wins. Then in two/four years the electorate will flip flop back the other way

Agreed.

Clearly, the LATINO vote turned on Trump and the GOP big time.
So did the Independents.

The Polls were right.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that RECORD DIESEL PRICES doesn't go over well in the Farm Belt and Middle America.

Why there were Trump people discounting and being so dismissive of high fuel prices is beyond all common sense.
Voters vote with their wallets.

I did not say I change my stance on things I've discussed here but it would be foolish to debate that Americans have spoken and they want a more centrist leadership.

JD positioning for 2028. I'm so fascinated by the current political spectrum. We have a lame duck president who is going to do anything but sit quiet for two years. A VP positioning himself for a presidential run. A democratic congress that is anything but united, even within the dem party. This is going to be a wild two year ride.
