Also worrisome:

Payroll gains for June and July were revised down by a total 21,000 and now reveals the economy shed 13,000 jobs in June - the first job losses since the depths of the pandemic in December 2020.

Job growth for May through July has averaged a measly 35,000.

MAGA for MORONS.

Economy adds disappointing 22,000 jobs in August, jobs report shows. Unemployment rises

What is so confusing?

Nothing reduces investment quite like a bunch of uncertainty, especially in regard to policy.
And to say that we've had uncertainty in policy for the past several months is a massive understatement.

With no stability in trade and economics, capital expenditures spending and hiring are frozen.
Companies are just trying to survive.

What is so confusing?

The last several jobs reports have been bad. Really bad. But other things like GDP, inflation, stock market (which reflects earnings/ptofitability), consumer confidence, unemployment rate have been more favorable (good to stable???). The government is not infusing money into the economy like during COVID. Jobs numbers should correlate to the other stuff but it isn't.

Tom del Becaro says this is all part of transitioning from Federal hiring to private hiring. Will Christmas shopping kick in now?

"Trade deals / stability" - multiple large trade deals now inked, many more on the way.

With GDP you have to ignore the noise. The first half of the year grew 1.4% and Q3 will probably be around 2%.

Falling prices is a sign of a weak economy. The fact inflation is as high as it is in a weak economy is a bad sign.

The stock market is not the economy

The Bond Market does better reflect the economy and the 10 year yield is trending down in a sign of weakness

Consumer confidence is poor

Unemployment this year has increased from 4.0% to 4.3% while the participation rate has fallen from 62.6% to 62.3%

Housing is weak

Once again, you prove just how out of touch you are and how you have no idea what you're talking about.

WTI crude closed today at $61.97

It's nowhere near $70.
Hasn't been at $70 in five weeks.

Duh.

A.) Like Dajo said, the stock market is not the economy and it currently has the highest Price/Sales ratio ever.
B.) Inflation expectations are moving higher, not lower given the PCI and Conference Board expectations data.
C.) The unemployment rate has been ticking up.
D.) Consumer Confidence is poor.

I don't know where you get your economic news from but you might want to read the WSJ for better info.

I thought the argument was that the illegals were TAKING all the jobs that real Americans could have had?

This explains a lot.

Chief_Engineer: Built by Americans. Captured by Foreigners.

Built by Americans. Captured by Foreigners. Post #1 How foreign interests infiltrate, capture, and gut American companies from the inside. This is no longer a theory. It has happened. And we have the blueprint. In 2023, a U.S. attorney exposed how a company he worked with was quietly taken over after hiring a foreign CEO. The new CEO, backed by a private equity firm, removed the original American founders. Then he filled every C-suite position with executives from his home country. No diversity. No objectivity. Just a complete executive sweep. Within months, 15% of the American workforce was laid off. But the jobs didn't disappear. They were filled by imported workers on visas. The firm was transformed from the top down, one relationship at a time. ...

Yes, REAL AMERICANS want to work in the Hotel industry cleaning toilets, bathrooms, and making beds.

They want to work in a meatpacking plant, cutting up carcasses until they can no longer grip the knife.

They also want to work in the Central Valley picking crops in the heat while inhaling pesticide ridden dirt.

But the illegal immigrants TOOK THOSE JOBS AWAY.

Meanwhile, the Unemployment Rate for BLACK Americans rose to 7.5%

Thats up from 7.2% in July.
And 6.0% in May.

And the jobless rate for people ages 20 - 24 rose to 9.2% in August from 8% a year ago.

These numbers are horrible.
Why hasnt Chump fired anyone at BLS?

FAIR: American Workers are Benefiting from Secure Borders and Immigration Enforcement

"Last month, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out a worksite enforcement action at the Glenn Valley Foods meatpacking plant in Omaha, Nebraska. Seventy-six illegal workers were detained by ICE.

"But what was more remarkable is what happened next. Two days after ICE removed dozens of illegal alien workers, "Every seat in the waiting area of Glenn Valley Foods was occupied with people filling out job applications," reported NBC News. In other words, contrary to repeated assertions that Americans are unwilling to do jobs in certain sectors of the labor market, if offered decent wages and working conditions there are plenty who will do those jobs.

"New data released last week by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) confirm that what happened at the meatpacking plant in Omaha was not an anomaly. DOL's June jobs report indicates that during that one-month period, the number of employed U.S.-born workers increased by 830,000. That one-month jump in job gains for U.S.-born workers brings the total to more than 2 million since January, when President Trump took office."

The ACA only mandates employers (who have 50 or more employees) to pay health care benefits if employees work over 30 hours per week.

It's highly unlikely that Hotel housekeepers are working full-time.

As a result, your claim is bogus.

No. The UniParty allowed illegal immigration for decades, which played a major role in driving Real Wages down, especially for Blue Collar workers. This is when African American women were displaced from the hotel industry.

Then Democrats facilitated 10 - 21 million new illegal immigrants within four years under the Autopen Administration. Dr. Victor Davis Hanson says four flights a night of illegal immigrants flew into Fresno Airport. The Autopen Administration also had an app to facilitate illegal entry. Gates in Trump's border Wall were welded open, and new Wall construction stopped. NGOs, the Catholic Church, and others facilitated the invasion.

I see here your ignorance and racism coming through. Black and White hotel maids worked full time and more, and lifting mattresses 8-10 hours a day considered back breaking for some.

These dynamics are a little different now w Indians dominating the industry. Some have family members work. Bay Area hotel workers I spoke w recently pcommuted in from Stockton and worked 6-7 days a week.

What about the 475 South Koreans who were arrested in Georgia? They entered country illegally, were on visas that don't allow them to work and had overstayed visas. Their country is bringing a plane to come get them and return them home. Are they victims? Are you going to try to convince us Hyundai won't be able to fill those jobs in Georgia? The claim that illegals are only taking the jobs you listed is flat out wrong and disingenuous.

I believe a lot of those guys were involved in jobs relating to highly specialized construction, engineering oversight, and supply chain coordination.

Good luck to anyone that buys a car made in that plant, if it ever opens.

"Their country is bringing a plane to come get them and return them home."

I guess the government of South Korea didn't want its people ending up in Uganda.

Cool story.

Because with virtually an unlimited supply of housekeeping labor, a Hotel chain is going to employ workers that work over 30 hours per week so that they have to pay benefits.
