It seems like shutdowns have become another piece of performative art with enough of the government working to mitigate consequences .

I'm in favor of people getting more insurance not less but paying insurance companies isn't my preferred way. Also as happens often and with this one, popular programs are enacted then phased out in a short time period leaving people stranded. You can't take benefits away from people once they work
