I don't condone this but the video also doesn't show any punching at all.

So if she had time to reverse she also had time to brake and not hit the officer.

Nothing about this story is cool bro. It sucks all the way around. Really wish she would have thought about her children before putting herself in the position and making choices that led up to her being shot and killed.

You could say that about a number of people.
Ashli Babbit comes to mind. But Trumper's here called that MURDER.

Hypocrites.

The wagging TDS hypocrites blame the ICE officer for this agitator's death yet blame Ashley Babbit for being shot.

Not me. I've already said this numerous times in this thread.

Both deaths shouldn't have happened. Both were caused by actions of the individual. You can't have one be okay and the other not okay.

Agreed but both cases represent an abuse of police/state power resulting in murder.

You are replying to a post that one poster made that has zero stars and attributing it to "You guys." Only one guy posted this tweet. With that being said, there are a ton of exaggerations on both sides of this argument. It is like folks are watching two different videos. For what it is worth, her actions were reckless and dangerous. I don't believe she intentionally tried to hit the officer. I do, however, understand why the officer thought that when the car was about to hit him.

Still trying to understand how the actions against Babbitt are equivalent to this. One person was trying to break in to the Capitol Building and another was trying to drive away from ICE agents.

Yes, basically, the lives of protestors engaged in protests you don't agree with are cheaper.

What? No, one of them was engaged in a far more aggressive action than the other.

That's where we disagree
BearlySane88

Well she drove at an officer so yes. At least assault with a deadly weapon

Babbitt was an unarmed woman engaged in trespassing. Good was driving an SUV in the middle of an ICE operation, though I agree that she was leaving the scene.

In both cases, their lives were cheap.

You're welcome to that opinion but I firmly disagree. One was using a deadly weapon, the other was breaking and entering.

She drove away from an officer.

She hit him. Hardly away…

New video of the incident:

It's pretty distant so doesn't add much clarity other than it shows Good had been stopped there for 3 or 4 minutes before the ICE agents arrived and that other cars had passed by her in the meantime. Unclear why she stopped there. Did she know that ICE would be coming down that street several minutes before they did?

She didn't. I can see why he might have thought she was going to.
BearlySane88
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She stopped there to impede ice after letting her wife out to film it . Come on now…

Yes she knew because she had been following ICE around all morning according to reports and eye witnesses statements

Even if you're right, which I disagree that you are, then your statement justified the use of lethal force. Thank you

Driving towards an officer with your vehicle is grounds for the use of lethal force. You'd like the officers to get hit first?

There is other context, like the officers escalating the situation by trying to force her out of the car and one of them wrongly placing himself in front of the vehicle. But yes, in a vacuum if an officer thinks he will be run over then force may be justified.

I've only seen one "witness" who is mostly talking about "what she heard." Are there any other witnesses to this?

This is possible! But IMO not a lot of evidence for it yet.

You're right, I should have said eye witness not witnesses. There's the video of the woman talking after the event, I think it's been posted here already. She says it was clear the woman was trying to impede ICE by blocking the road

What about the context that she was disobeying legal orders to get out of her car?

I'm not claiming everything was done well by the officers. Could this have been prevented, yes. Should it have been presented, yes. My only argument this whole time has been that the shooting was lawful. Tragic and terrible, but lawful

Yes, and that woman was not an "eye witness" to Good having followed ICE around all morning. Just the shooting incident itself. The rest is her supposition based on things she heard. Again, could be true but this isn't great evidence of that.

I do not expect the ICE officers to get convicted of anything here. Lawful does not necessarily mean right.

Thoughts on this:

1. Shows that Good's wife, at least, was not a big fan of ICE. I'm not shocked if these people are protestors or "observers" or whatever.

2. Doesn't actually show the car hitting him, so don't try to tell me it does. All this shows is that he moved back (or was moved) once the car started moving. We don't see the car hit him in the video.

3. Does show that the ICE agent moved in front of the car before it started moving, which he probably shouldn't have done.
