I am not wading into this debate (nor really followed it) but a core problem (true not just here but the entire internet) is the time it takes to refute and "teach" following posts that are insane. It calls for self policing. You shouldn't ever compare Q3 and Q4 gdp from different years and think you are making a point. But it takes even more time to grab the GDP data from the StLFed, understand the garage a not really have a feeling you are changing anyone's mind. The ideal should be self restraint - thinking about whether your post is done to advance a dialogue or just to troll and "own the libs".

Fine, but he's also typically a guy who defends cops and isn't doing it this time.

I also have a Facebook friend who is a retired cop. He had similar thoughts on this matter, that the ICE agents escalated needlessly and broke multiple protocols he was taught during his time in law enforcement:

1. Rushing in with expletive-laced commands ("Get out of the f***ing car!") rather than first calmly asking the driver to clear the road.
2. Trying to force open the car door rather than waiting for the driver to get out.
3. One of them wandering around the car and placing himself in front of a running vehicle. (We've discussed this a lot.)
4. Firing your gun at a moving car rather than simply stepping out of danger. Hitting the driver doesn't help with safety, it makes everyone less safe because now the car is out of control.

Can anyone really disagree with this? Even if it's not murder it's bad policing. And with the top of government (Noem/Trump/Vance) doubling down and refusing to admit any fault, there will be zero accountability for it.
