"Many of the remainder probably think the Obama years were more of an embarrassment than the Trump years."
Please take me through a line item by line item analysis of where these nimrods think Obama was an embarrassment and include citations to the facts this belief is based on.
...Or is the simple answer that the belief that Obama was an embarrassment is not fact based but rather based exclusively on racism and Fox News opinion shows?
The assertion that tRump is an embarrassment (also a traitor, liar and self dealer) is fact base and the supporting evidence would fill an airplane hanger.
Oh, and if the RWNJs think they are going to get power back and impose their will on the majority....every major city in the US will be burned to the ground first..and then the country folk will get theirs next.
Whoa - I think you might be misunderstanding me. I AGREE with you about Trump's presidency being a disgrace (and Obama's presidency being mixed, but NOT a disgrace).
Close to 50% of Americans
wrongly (in my opinion) believe that the Obama presidency was an embarrassment and that Trump's hasn't been. You've given some of the reasons for this, bolded above. Other reasons would be right wing radio shows shows and other media outlets (not just Fox). And how Republicans have done a far better job than Democrats of weaponizing social media and immunizing their followers from contrary opinions (though Dems have done it too as Republicans eagerly point out, projecting as always). Being Republican and hating Democrats has gone beyond reason and become a soul-level core identity for many, more so than the opposite has happened for Dems (which it has to some extent, but again, less).
Due to outside circumstances, I've had the chance to converse with several folks like this online from rural Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio. I
never give anything away about my own political opinions (though if they pay attention, they can tell I'm from California). I just listen and make 100% sure to always act with respect and compassion. These are perfectly nice people and I am friendly with them. And they terrify me. They are all in on Trump. Still. He is their hero and savior and liberals and Democrats are demons. It goes beyond reasons and logic - it operates at the level of unshakeable religious belief. Almost half of America is like this. These people will spend their meager fortunes, never concede an inch, crawl through broken glass for their Republican leaders (who of course mostly despise them when the cameras aren't rolling and the microphones aren't on).
Here's where we disagree. So WHEN (not if) the RWNJs get the power back, I don't think any violent conflict is going to play out quite like you are thinking. Especially since law-enforcement is now utterly on the side of the RWNJs. And most latte-sipping liberals (like me) have no stomach for armed conflict. Cities may burn, but the country folk are not going to get theirs - unless you mean continuing to be ground under the heel of crony capitalism and lack of quality education and jobs, in which case yes. Our future has at least some fascism written all over it.
