Republican mayor from border state explains why he just endorsed Harris for president | PBS News
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/republican-mayor-from-border-state-explains-why-he-just-endorsed-harris-for-president
"Republicans are attempting to blame her for the surges and the chaos at the border. I think there's blame to be passed all around, going back multiple presidential administrations. But, in particular, I'm disappointed with President Trump's decision to kill the bipartisan immigration act that Senator Sinema and others worked on so hard.
That would have been a tremendous help at the border. So, again, Vice President Harris is going to have to address this issue head on, especially in border states like Arizona. But I think, when all the facts are on the table, the majority of the blame for the problem there is going to go to President Trump's attempts to derail a lot of work that has gone into trying to solve that problem."
This is laughable on its face. Let's see, there wasn't a problem until the first day of the new administration when Biden reversed all of Trump's policies... then after three years of chaos, they basically reimplemented Trump's policies and presto-change-o things got better (not great but better). And somehow that's Trump and Republican's fault because he and republicans didn't want to codify a policy that would have allowed MILLIONS of illegals to enter the country under the pretense of "bipartisanship."
So this guy who voted for Biden in 2020, endorses what Biden / Harris did. Talk about stop the presses!!!!
Trump opposed the border legislation that we all agree would be good for America. Why did he do that?
The bill was weak, and he didn't want to cave into accepting Biden's weak bill.
1) Trump has strong executive order curbing illegal immigration
2) Weak Biden reversed executive order, essentially creating an open border while Democratic supporter organizations recruit people to cross our border
3) A weak bill is proposed in Congress
4) Trump opposes weak bill and it fails
5) After letting illegal immigration run wild, Biden, with elections coming up and wanting to not have he and his border czar look super weak and helpless on curbing illegal immigration, passes weak executive order curbing immigration.
Perhaps Congress can pass a stronger bill?
