It was kind of strange in 2004 and 2016 when John Kerry and then Hillary Clinton were ahead in most of the battleground states and then, on election night and the day after, the vote count just gradually but "definitively" went to Bush and then Trump... as if by a slow-moving magic.

I'm not sure anyone could have anticipated the dumb, bigoted, lying, crook from 2016 could possibly look even worse a few years later but he's proven to be even more aggressively, forcefully stupid.

Biden has been out campaigning in the battleground states and appealing to middle class workers so I think his campaign gets it. It will not be won appealing to the people in the coast but to suburban and middle class folks in the battleground states.

"Defendants have faced what have proven to be insurmountable difficulties in obtaining an appeal bond for the full $464 million," according to an affirmation by Trump Organization general counsel Alan Garten.

While Garten said Trump is "financially stable" and maintains "substantial assets," the magnitude of the judgment would require him to use his real estate as collateral for the bond. So far, according to Garten's affirmation, no surety bond provider approached by Trump is willing to accept real estate as collateral, including Chubb, the insurance giant underwriting Trump's $91.6 million bond to cover the $83 million judgment in the E. Jean Carroll defamation case, plus interest.

"For Defendants, this presents a major obstacle," Garten wrote.

Trump is bringing Manafort back into the fold - maybe this grifter who helped install a puppet regime in Ukraine and the bipartisan senate deemed "a grave counterintelligence threat" is back in the fold to help Trump access Russian money to pay his debts.


A lot happened in Trump litigation today. On Trump's behalf, his hand-selected judge in Florida did him another solid with a non-sensical motion.



And in Trump's other NY case (the criminal hush money case), Trump got smoked on a big motion. Trial date likely to be set soon.
