Trump must have dementia. First - they typically use the Montreal Cognitive Assessment as a quick screen when someone shows cognitive dysfunction. My parents are around Trump's age and have never been given the screening because they don't have any signs of dysfunction (although in his 50's it was impossible for my dad to remember Giant's pitcher William VanLandingham's name).

Second, if Trump is bragging about acing a test you can be pretty sure he failed it.

Yet the Trump supporters will continue to claim that Biden, who has been able to comfortably handle himself in multiple long-form interviews, is suffering through eleventeenth stage dementia and that Trump is as sharp as a tack. Perhaps a simple cognitive assessment screener would be whether someone thinks Trump is higher functioning than Biden. All of the boiled brain people think it's Trump.

Trump bragging about acing a test is not evidence that he failed it. Why do you continuously make up false points and then make a conclusion off of them? Your arguing is disingenuous. I would think you were just trying to be funny but you write as if you are serious and do this over and over and over and over again.

My father is 82. Stepmom is 79.
Mom is 80. Stepdad died 6 years ago at 93.
Grandma died at 99 6 years ago.

I watched the last two mentally decline and now I'm starting to see it in my parents.

I think both Biden and Trump are losing it. Clearly.

Biden is like my stepdad: calm, slow reasoned. But clearly not following everything and clearly not coming up with novel leadership ideals.

Trump is like my mom: still jabberjawing away, but also just insisting everything is the world according to Gump.

Grandma and stepdad eventually got to the Duh stage.

They (Trump and Biden and my parents) and We are all in this pipeline of progression!

I think there's a common thread outside of mental decline and that's that proud and accomplished people don't want to lay the sword down and yield or defer to the next generation. They fought in their primes for their position or accomplishment and so they are going to continue to do so in old age - it's who they are.

And, I equate such a radical change for these types, from assertiveness to back-seating it, to be equivalent to them just laying down and dying.
They AREN'T going to go gracefully. They are going to hold the staff until it is wrested from them or they drop dead.

When it comes to family, nobody is going to wrest control.
But when it comes to national leadership, it needs to be wrested.

Biden would not be able to form his team on his own at this point. It's others. And they chose him to run again because it's the closest they'll ever come to the Presidency. They need him for their own designs.

For Trump, he's crazy and still able to boss people around, because he's a master at it. But it doesn't make him sane!

Dementia is multi faceted. It manifests itself in various ways.

PS: I like that you say, "if trump is bragging, you know he's worried about it!"
I think that's accurate.
My mom keeps trying to convince us she's not lost it yet. Defensive. Projection.
We can see she's losing it in the day to day, nonsensical, changes.

Agreed with everything you wrote. The last part is key. It's still possible (although far-fetched) to believe that his doctors keep giving him dementia tests when he doesn't have any symptoms (lololol), but if he really "aced" the test he took during his presidency and the one he claims to have recently taken, why wouldn't he release the results?

If he really wants to brag about acing an alzheimers screening test, why not make a big show of it and do it live and televised on Fox News?

The answer is obvious and anyone not seeing it maybe should take the same test Trump has taken multiple times.

I truly think there should be some new sort of national policy about testing people above a certain age.

Mandatory retirement for certain positions unless you can pass some test.

That would piss people off but it's obvious how we begin to fall apart.

Are you coming at this from the elder abuse angle? If a walmart greeter has cognitive impairment but enjoys their work and Walmart is happy to employ them, why should the government get involved?

I get where there is more of a safety angle (operating heavy machinery?) but I guess I don't see the general need for this. Most people with cognitive impairments won't be able to function in their jobs and will stop working without any government intervention.

With elected officials, obviously it's a whole other ball of wax. The problem with the presidency, in particular, is that we can no longer trust anything that we hear from career civil servants. Trump says he got a "perfect score" on his MOCA. I am obviously skeptical. Given that Trump ordered his private doctor to make ridiculous statements about his health and what he made Ronny Jackson say, would anyone really believe a white house doctor saying Trump aced the MOCA? I sure as heck wouldn't. Would you believe Biden's white house doctor? I sure as heck wouldn't. Anything short of a televised assessment I would have trouble believing, and even there I imagine someone with Trump's level of deficiency would still be able to prepare for the test to "ace" it.

The POTUS requirements are set by the constitution so that's not going to happen. I guess I just don't see this as something the government needs to direct, except for government jobs.

As for the presidency, I mean, the electorate just needs to do better.

This is just from today and yet you will hear from many people on BI that Trump is actually the front-runner and is capable of leading the country.

The electorate cannot "just do better".
The electorate is maleable. Propaganda and misinformation in the hands of an unaware electorate is the same as "news" or "informed".

There needs to be some sort of laws, but then, who controls the filter? That becomes the problem.

Here's what's happening:
Big money can fund campaigns. Dark money. Covert nominations of judges and pushing elected candidates that are beholden.

The electorate doesn't know and can't keep track of it all.

We're screwed. I have no solution for you.

I just want to tamp down all of the speculation that Trump has secondary syphillis. There is no reason to believe he's ever had an STD.

More quotes:

Quote:

In an unearthed interview from 1997, Donald Trump claimed he was a "brave soldier" for avoiding STDs during his single years in the late '90s.

"It's amazing, I can't even believe it. I've been so lucky in terms of that whole world, it is a dangerous world out there. It's like Vietnam, sort of. It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave solider," Trump said in the interview when Howard Stern asked how he handled making sure he wasn't contracting STDs from the women he was sleeping with.

The business-mogul-turned-politician elaborated on the fact in the interview, calling women's vaginas "potential landmines" and saying "there's some real danger there."

If he's bragging about never getting an STD, you can pretty much guarantee he's had at least one.

This article is full of interesting bits.

https://www.vox.com/2016/7/7/12058676/donald-trump-books-women

Quote:

In Surviving at the Top (1990), Trump wrote that he was drawn to his first wife, Ivana, because she was "different." Before her, he said, good looks had been "my top and sometimes, to be honest, my only priority in my man-about-town days." (In those days, he said, he was "out four or five nights a week, usually with a different woman each time.")

Quote:

The mistake in "allowing" this wasn't that Ivana was bad at the work; to the contrary, he said, "she did an excellent job." The problem, it seemed, was that Ivana was too good at the job in the sense that she was too invested in the work and presumably not invested enough in her "role of wife."

Translation - you are here to serve ME! Pay attention to ME! Otherwise….

Is **** a banned word if spelled S L U … ?

Quote:

At the very time my marriage was going bad, I was starting to get attention from an unbelievable array of women.

Some of it was downright ridiculous. After I made an appearance on the Phil Donahue show to promote my first book, for example, I got mailbags full of flirtatious letters and outright propositions from women, many of whom included nude Polaroids of themselves in various poses. Somehow I didn't see myself going arm-in-arm in public with ladies of that ilk.

Yet it wasn't just gold diggers and would-be groupies who were showing interest in me. Some of the attention was coming from women who were quite interesting and even, in certain instances, great beauties and often well known.

I'm doubling or tripling my number!

Quote:

"I've never had any trouble in bed, but if I'd had affairs with half the starlets and female athletes the newspaper had linked me with, I'd have had no time to breathe."

Trump's brags about his sexual conquests, or the times he nobly declines potential conquests, often includes more than a hint of **** shaming. He takes special care to brag about the women who are married to important people who throw themselves at him: "If I told my real experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women, this book would be a guaranteed best-seller (which it will be anyway!)," he wrote in The Art of the Comeback.

After such a long life of bedding countless women, and expecting them to serve him, per the dumping Ivana quote, Trump moved from seeing them as conquests to be proud of to people to insult and abuse:

Pick a number!

Come on, guys! I did the Eurail thing in 1990 and one of the guys said he was in the 90's. And he had had a girlfriend first couple years of college, I didn't know how he got so high. Meanwhile, I think I was in the 50's of girls I had at least kissed. I was surprised by that, too. I guess it adds up!

If you look at stats on sexual promiscuity Trump is assuredly at the very high end. Like, sex workers and drug addicts and serial Johns are certainly way more than him. But he's in the class of people below that, and I imagine he racked up hundreds before he married Ivana. And I bet he's got hundreds more since then.

I recall a quote from the movies Reds. Some old man said, "I think there was just as much fugging going on back then as there is now." Yeah, Trump doesn't come from some pure time. He was a narcissist on the prowl in the Big Apple. I'll bet he went to collect rent in his apartments as an errand boy growing up and came back empty handed many times!

Trump knows no self-restraint. And now he's arguing that it legally be given to him.

Trump is preparing to declare himself a God. The man is evil and must be crushed, so go ahead, pick a number!

Any 2nd Candidate who stays in the race and continues to rack up delegates will be in a much stronger position to be the nominee vs. the alternative, which would be party hacks picking the candidate or a floor battle at the convention.

To me the Republican primary is boring because nobody is going to beat Trump. This dynamic is potentially the only thing worth paying attention to.

It may be likely that….
….Nikki Haley accumulates far fewer votes than Trump
….Nikki Haley is nonetheless the Republican on the November ballot
….Nikki Haley beats Biden because she is a woman and far younger than Biden
….the Republican Party finally attempts to rid itself of the stain of Trump
….you are STILL an idiot

It may be likely!

I have to laugh at the fact that he took a giant crap on both of the New York cases which he said are weak. The only reason they have a chance of succeeding is because they're in New York.

Gen. John Kelly (Ret.) on tRump:

"What can I add that has not already been said?" Kelly said, when asked if he wanted to weigh in on his former boss in light of recent comments made by other former Trump officials. "A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all 'suckers' because 'there is nothing in it for them.' A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because 'it doesn't look good for me.' A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family for all Gold Star families on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America's defense are 'losers' and wouldn't visit their graves in France.

A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women," Kelly continued. "A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.

"There is nothing more that can be said," Kelly concluded. "God help us."
