For those unable to post anything but a tweet because they can't think for themselves when they're too busy flailing their Trump Pom Poms:

Too bad total employment in the U.S. fell to 162.6 million, the lowest since Dec. 2024.

Too bad total employment declined for the 4th straight month, the longest streak since 2009.

Too bad the labor participation rate dropped again to 61.8%, the lowest rate since 2021.

Too bad the number of job cuts in April was 83,387, a 38% month over month increase from March.

JUST THE FACTS.

For those who like to talk about other posters incessantly, cutting down the federal government is working!

Working for WHO exactly?

Those laid off from govt jobs are now on unemployment insurance, no longer paying taxes, and most likely cutting their consumption which hurts the economy.

We are paying their unemployment checks.

I didn't ignore it but thanks for assuming things! You think 100% of the federal workforce that has been cut is just sitting unemployed? They aren't. Even if so, they probably shouldn't have been hired by the government if they can't get private sector jobs

Speaking of assuming things . . .
How would you know that those ex-Govt workers are already back employed in the private sector?

Do you have any data to substantiate your claim???

I don't know but I already walked you through this in my previous post but since you weren't able to put the pieces together, I'll help you out. It's logical to assume that skilled workers would get hired elsewhere, at least some of them. If they didn't get hired elsewhere, they probably weren't very skilled.

See that steady decline that started 10 years before Trump took office on the far left?

That's why people were angry about the Obama administration. What's happening now in the country started back in the Bush administration, continued through the Obama administration, and has gotten worse since.

Truthfully, the origins are with the Clinton administration and NAFTA though.

Especially given how many skilled workers are losing their jobs to Ai.

It's not ignorant at all. It's based on reality. If you're good at something, you'll find work. If you can't find work, find something else you're good at

Instead of a "political" answer, I will provide some real world specifics:

1.) More people over 55 retiring.
2.) More people discouraged by lack of job prospects
3.) Immigrant enforcement policies DHS/ICE

A bad faith question about the Labor Participation Rate?

Feel free to read the link and chart I provided above and LEARN something.

I would have thought that as a TEACHER you would be open to LEARNING something you didn't know.

Apparently, I was wrong about that.

This is a thread about the economy under Trump, you didn't have to mention it to know where you were heading.

I think it's clear you have no idea what other people know or don't know.

This thread that I started back in Feb. 2025 with over 276,000 views is about the ECONOMY.

The beauty about economic discussion is that it is not always "political".
But you seem to make it so 24/7 here.

Sad really.
