The hypocrisy of these fundamental Christians is astounding but not surprising. Too bad there's not a Hell, because they'd be there for sure.

From the forthcoming book that someone with a quarter of a brain instead of an eighth of a brain undoubtedly ghost wrote for Don, Jr:

"He said when he was a kid, Michael Jackson lived in Trump Tower and came over to play video games with him and Eric."

Let the comments begin:

1. Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber were both such unattractive and unpleasant children that even Michael Jackson didn't lay a glove on them;

Will never happen. Blacks do not support either candidate
It's not as if blacks support Trump either. However, for a million different reasons, Buttigieg is not going to be the presidential nominee, the vice presidential nominee, or anything other than mayor of South Bend.

President Trump says quid pro quo with Ukraine is 'not impeachable'

https://mol.im/a/7645987

The problem with asserting diametrically opposed defenses like this is that tRump is basically saying: "Once it is proven that my denial that there was a quid pro quo is a lie, then there was nothing wrong with a quid pro quo anyway."
This then gives rise to the question: If there was nothing wrong with it then why did you and your legal advisors deem it critical to lie about it?

Conclusion: Since Republican legislators lack integrity and honesty and are all about power and not about the good of the country, my points are as relevant as debating how many angels you can fit on the head of a needle.

"In the era of Trumpian truth, misstatements and lies are washed away by the next story, prompting Pinocchios from fact checkers and scolding from Democrats and Never Trumpers while Republicans dismiss them with that's-just-Trump-being-Trump weariness.
"Donald Trump is not simply a serial liar; he is attempting to murder the very idea of truth, which is even worse," said Peter Wehner, a former strategic adviser to President George W. Bush and an outspoken critic of Mr. Trump. "Because without truth, a free society cannot operate." Peter Baker and Eric Schmitt, NY Times

This is no different from denial of climate change where they say it either (1) isn't happening, (2) isn't man made or (3) even if the first 2 are false, there is nothing we can do about it now. They have no problem arguing in the alternative because they don't care about the underlying problem.

I've said for a while that they would ultimately arrive at the argument that he did it and they don't care. It's been moving in that direction for weeks.

There's really no mystery to it at all:

Elsewhere, I just used The 5 Stages of Grief to explain Trump's core's response to the evidence that is coming forth - though I would have thought they'd be onto "Acceptance" by now.

The 5 stages of grief and loss are:
1. Denial and isolation;
2. Anger;
3. Bargaining;
4. Depression;
5. Acceptance.
People who are grieving do not necessarily go through the stages in the same order or experience all of them.

That's true, but I think there's at least one more aspect of it which U2S is highlighting here.

If it were purely IOIYAR and nothing else, Trump and Republicans would have said right from the start that there's no problem with not only asking a foreign power for help against a political opponent, but also no problem with quid pro quo. But they didn't do that, at first anyway.

They, Trump, Republicans, Fox and other right-wing media violently denied quid pro quo, to try to make that the red line that Trump didn't cross, hoping to draw attention from the point that even without quid pro quo, it's absolutely an impeachment-level offense to ask a foreign power for that. And only later did they switch defenses and say there's nothing wrong with quid pro quo (if our guy does it).

They habitually do it in 2 steps, completely reversing position between the two in the hopes that the inattentive public won't catch on. Aggressive denial followed by "Yeah we did it, so what? Get over it."

Someone on these boards (can't remember who, apologies) once put it this way, as a timeline, which I'm pasting here:

Allegations of X.

GOP: there's no evidence, this is just a witch-hunt/speculation/fake news. We get it, you hate Trump, he's the devil, etc. Eyes rolled.

Time passes.

Proof of X.

GOP: there's nothing new here, we've known this for a while, what's the point of talking about this now other than the Left hates Trump? Eyes rolled.

"Leon Panetta said, "I think it's important to keep focusing on the basics. And the basic charge here is that the president of the United States was asking a foreign leader and a foreign government to open up an investigation on a political opponent and on a political conspiracy and in exchange for that would provide not only a meeting at the White House but also military aid. That is the clear definition of bribery. And it's a clear definition of what constitutes a violation of the president's oath. So this is just additional evidence that when you look at the testimony, when you look at the facts here, it basically supports a charge against the president that he was deliberately misusing his office of the presidency." It is either the bourbon blush because he is a drunk or rouge because he has the pastey "I could drop dead at any time" skin tone.
Kennedy has an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA), which endorsed him during his 2016 Senate run. He is very close to former NRA president Wayne LaPierre.Wikipedia

He corrected his testimony to admit there was a quid pro quo. How much further will he go in implicating the president? He could take down the president if he testifies that the president told him what he wanted, and he replied, "uh, no, you can't do that, it's illegal."
To which trump released a flurry of swearing and badgering and "I don't care, I'm the president and can do whatever I like. Now get out there and do what I tell you to."

"And so," Sondland could say, "I regrettably did, and it's the one thing in my life I will never forgive myself for."

With regard to the response of Republican legislators to tRump's "perfect call" involving the Ukraine, Mitch McConnell gathered his GOP colleagues in private and told them their best bet was to calibrate their own message about the impeachment inquiry to fit their political situation. Lisa Mascaro, Associated Press

For you see, one of the best features of the Republicans' Alternate Facts Universe is that it gives them the flexibility to twist and turn "fluid facts" into whatever balloon animal shape is required to shore up their individual political situation.

The GOP has morphed into the party of the idiocracy. When your trade is deception and irrational stupidity, it's easy to make the truth be whatever you say it is and go unchallenged by a base more interested in tribal loyalty than political/ethical ideals (and who never really understood or believed them to begin with).

The rich got it right: trick the dumb people into believing that you are religious patriots and you will retain power to keep cementing your stranglehold on wealth.

Nikki Haley's rationale for allowing Trump's crime on the Ukraine call.
She says because Ukraine never did the investigation, and the Administration released the funds, there is nothing to impeach him on.

So, like, can I plot to have Trump murdered without being jailed? I hear there are some websites where I could make an offer of $10M to put a hit on a person.

What if I plotted to blow up the World Trade Center - can I be arrested before I actually commit the crime?

I have very little forgiveness for someone who displays stupidity or such illogical partisanship.
She's out. I can never even consider supporting her.
Put her in the same category as so so many other GOP members.

" John Bolton is the impeachment inquiry's biggest wildcard. People around the president say they are worried about what notes Trump's former national security adviser has kept and when he might divulge them.

Why it matters: These sources, including both current and former senior administration officials, tell me that the former national security adviser was the most prolific note-taker at the top level of the White House and probably has more details than any impeachment inquiry witness, so far, about President Trump's machinations on Ukraine.

"Bolton was a voracious note-taker, in every meeting," said a source who attended numerous meetings with him.
While others sat and listened in meetings with Trump, Bolton distinguished himself by filling legal pads with contemporaneous notes on what was said in the room." Axios

Who, knows, maybe Bolton will swap out his legacy in American history from punchline to hero...the man that brought down the Clownocracy.

So y'all ready for the Trump Impeachment Reality Show to go live this week? You guys ready fo the shyt to hit da fan? Of course first the GOP wanted public hearing...and now they don't. What a bunch of indecisive little betches.

Trump is definitely getting ready....

Quote:

President Trump tweeted or retweeted 82 times on Saturday while flying to and from a collegiate football game in Alabama.

From Axios.

And then there's this...Trump trying diversion, distraction...again. He knows the Turks coming to the WH will get coverage because of the all the crap swirling around them and Trump. He's trying to split the media attention but I think the Erdogan meeting gets pushed down and the media will focus on what William Taylor, Kent and Yavonovich have to say.

Trump to hold news conference with Turkish President on day of House's first public impeachment hearings

Any predictions?
