tequila4kapp has a point in that, all over the country election laws were changed in ways that made it easier for Americans to vote safely during a pandemic, and naturally that is a benefit to Dems because when Dems vote, Dems win.

They made it easier to vote by mail. It used to be that Republicans gained more from mail-in ballots, until Trump told them not to use those.
A number of states also made it so that mail-in ballots couldn't be counted before election day. They could have permitted mailed votes to be counted before election day, like they do in Florida, but they wanted to sow doubt in our democracy and help Trump with election denialism since they all knew he would lose the election.

In the last 4 years, the GOP and Democrats could have worked together to improve our election laws and infrastructure to make voting by mail more orderly and to help reduce the amount of time it takes to declare winners, but the GOP was maniacally focused on making it harder to legally cast votes because they know that democracy is a threat to the extremely unpopular modern GOP.

As I've said numerous times (h/t to Frum), if forced to choose between democracy and conservativism, the modern GOP will abandon democracy. They continue to prove that every day.

Dumbass…

Maybe he said that because he was prepping for some kind of narrative complaint for after the election. Of course, he did use the excuse, "they cheated", but it went nowhere.

He's a dumbass because he failed to realized that actually getting more votes is more important than having an excuse for losing.

After watching the Oscars tonight, he may choose to invest in Botox and fillers and whatever else those aging stars are doing to look 25 again.

Hey, if Michael Keaton can do it, so can Steve.

Just combing his hair, shaving more than once a week and getting some clothes that fit properly would help Bannon's looks a lot. There's not much to be done for his ugly interior though.

Looks like Trump has decided to give Carroll more money. At what point do the authorities need to investigate whether this is some elaborate money laundering scheme? I get that Trump's diminished capacity combined with his lifelong narcissism makes it hard for him to stay out of trouble, but even for him it should be easy to avoid defaming ONE PERSON. Instead, if anyone publicly asks him about the defamation case, he is pretty much guaranteed to add more defamation, which we've seen means that another judgment will be coming.

I look forward to Carroll suing him again for this most recent false claims, as well as all the others that are sure to follow.

Hard to argue that the punitive damages were unnecessarily high when it wasn't enough to deter him from behaving the same way again. If anything, it clearly needed to be higher.

If he has so little self control, how the heck can anyone justify risking another four years with him at the top? Just roll the dice again and hope to get lucky?

I apologize in advance for my TDS and for being delusional for thinking there is any link between tRump and Hitler.

"He said, 'Well, but Hitler did some good things.' I said, 'Well, what?' And he said, 'Well, [Hitler] rebuilt the economy.' But what did he do with that rebuilt economy? He turned it against his own people and against the world. And I said, 'Sir, you can never say anything good about the guy. Nothing,'" Kelly recounted. "I mean, Mussolini was a great guy in comparison."

"It's pretty hard to believe he missed the Holocaust, though, and pretty hard to understand how he missed the 400,000 American GIs that were killed in the European theater," Kelly told me. "But I think it's more, again, the tough guy thing."

Trump's admiration for Hitler went further than the German leader's economic policies, according to Kelly. Trump also expressed admiration for Hitler's hold on senior Nazi officers. Trump lamented that Hitler, as Kelly recounted, maintained his senior staff's "loyalty," while Trump himself often did not.

"He would ask about the loyalty issues and about how, when I pointed out to him the German generals as a group were not loyal to him, and in fact tried to assassinate him a few times, and he didn't know that," Kelly recalled. "He truly believed, when he brought us generals in, that we would be loyal that we would do anything he wanted us to do," Kelly told me."

*The part of this I don't believe is that tRump ever picked up a history book (or any other kind) in his life. His "knowledge" of the Third Reich is undoubtedly based entirely on his viewing of Hogan's Heroes.

Risking? These people have brain worms. They think Trump was the best president in history and that Trump's four year term was a model for all presidents to come. I mean Trump told them so! Never mind the disastrous response to the pandemic or any of the other things that actually happened during his regime, what they remember is how it felt to have an idiot say some of the same wrong things that they felt.

That said, his base is shrinking both from death and a narrowing of the people who are willing to overlook all of the negatives in exchange for theoretical benefits, particularly is the economy continues to remain stable. I think Trump's floor is like 40-45% of the electorate due to dead-enders and low info party ticket voters, but I think our only real risk this November is a black swan event that makes Biden untenable (whether it's his personal health, market driven, or otherwise).

Trump's takeover of the RNC is now more or less complete. Given his demonstrated history of soundly run business, I'm sure it will go great and that down ballot Republicans will be happy with the results.

Quote:

Under the new structure, the Trump campaign is looking to merge its operations with the RNC. Key departments, such as communications, data and fundraising, will effectively be one and the same.

This greatly increases the chances the Dems win back the house and increase their margins in the senate.

And more info out on Trump's loose lips with our nation's more sensitive secrets. We heard months ago about Anthony Pratt (AUS billionaire) obtaining classified information about our nuclear sub capabilities but this interview makes it appear even worse for America. Would anyone be surprised if Pratt wasn't the only foreigner paying for access? Has there ever been any easier, safer, higher ROI operations for foreign intelligence agents than just parking it in MAL and keeping their eyes open for intel?

As I have made clear, I would strongly prefer Biden over Trump.

Having said that, based on where CNN predicts the states are leaning at this point, it would be a challenge for Biden to win the White House without targeted campaign in the battle ground states to independents and moderate conservatives. I hope he can do that but not completely convinced at this point.

I would not even categorize Florida below as Leans Republican but more Solid Republican.

Biden will have to basically win all of the toss-up states and win one of the Leans Republican.

I think Michigan is doable and Arizona and Georgia will be tough to win again.

Was surprised that he led with raise taxes (even if personal income taxes need to be raised to bridge the deficit) considering his need to appeal to moderates.

If Trump wins all of the Leans Republican, he wins the White House.

We have oft discussed the possibility of tRump's heart exploding like a 50 lbs plastic bag of fat vacuumed from a tummy tuck thrown off a 10 story building.

I wonder what the odds are of tRump, with his battery of mental disorders (narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, and paranoid personality disorder), completely losing his sh@it before the election and going full Captain Queeg?

Trump's RNC makeover signals his 2025 plans to dramatically change the government

https://www.axios.com/2024/03/13/trump-rnc-makeover-2025-plan-government

"The RNC right now has to be taken apart brick by brick and rapidly rebuilt," said Steve Bannon, who'd been calling for former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel to step down for two years before Trump pushed her aside last month."

Question: What will the "bricks" made of?

Answer:

"A consortium of Trump allies are spending tens of millions of dollars to install a pre-vetted, pro-Trump army of up to 54,000 loyalists across government if he's elected.

The idea would be to rip off the restraints imposed on the previous 46 presidents and empower Trump to wield unprecedented power.

Trump's plan, as outlined in his policy platform, would involve firing "rogue bureaucrats" and "corrupt actors in our national security and intelligence apparatus," and moving up to 100,000 government positions out of D.C."
