You would think a guy who talks all the time about whether people graduated college or not and whether they actually attended Cal would know the difference between "You're" and "Your."

That's all you got to add to the economic discussion?
Sad Yogi.

Do better.

You did walk yourself into that one

Maybe he was on a zoom call with Jeffrey Toobin and got distracted.

Do you know what the labor force participation rate is?

Does this chart look good to you?

See that steady decline that started 10 years before Trump took office on the far left?

That's why people were angry about the Obama administration. What's happening now in the country started back in the Bush administration, continued through the Obama administration, and has gotten worse since.

Truthfully, the origins are with the Clinton administration and NAFTA though.

Wasn't even worth responding to but thank you for clearing that up for him anyways

Sometimes, even though he's annoying, arrogant, and not worth reading, I like to blow up his narrative anyway

My narrative wasnt blown up about what has led to the decline in the Labor Participation Rate. I gave specific economic causes for the decline. You did nothing but offer the names of 4 previous presidents.

Cutting down the federal government is working!

Working for WHO exactly?

Those laid off from govt jobs are now on unemployment insurance, no longer paying taxes, and most likely cutting their consumption which hurts the economy.

And we are no longer paying for their unnecessary salaries

We are paying their unemployment checks.
For some reason, you ignored that.

I didn't ignore it but thanks for assuming things! You think 100% of the federal workforce that has been cut is just sitting unemployed? They aren't. Even if so, they probably shouldn't have been hired by the government if they can't get private sector jobs

Speaking of assuming things . . .
How would you know that those ex-Govt workers are already back employed in the private sector?

Do you have any data to substantiate your claim???

I don't know but I already walked you through this in my previous post but since you weren't able to put the pieces together, I'll help you out. It's logical to assume that skilled workers would get hired elsewhere, at least some of them. If they didn't get hired elsewhere, they probably weren't very skilled.

That's a pretty ignorant ASSUMPTION on your part.
Especially given how many skilled workers are losing their jobs to Ai.

It's not ignorant at all. It's based on reality. If you're good at something, you'll find work. If you can't find work, find something else you're good at

Speaking of reality, 8,000 employees who were working at META on Ai just got laid off. The reality is that they lost their jobs creating Ai, because of Ai.

8,000 jobs in software programming/coding that were a highly coveted skill just a few years ago, have been ELIMINATED FOREVER.

I do understand that people are losing jobs due to AI, I have never disputed that.

People get laid off, industries change. Way of the world

Please up your reading level to a standard of a Cal grad. He clearly wrote, "If you can't find work, find something else you're good at." Please not flame throwing people with condescending insults when the truth is you really didn't read what they actually wrote.

I believe that most Cal grads would not have missed my point.
There is no need for any further clarification or insults on your part.

As my post made abundantly clear and substantiated by the recent layoffs at META, artificial intelligence is taking people's jobs away, even once highly-skilled and coveted software jobs.

That's reality.

As opposed to promoting a claim that people that are highly-skilled will always find work.
That is no longer the case given the massive disruptive force on the job market called Ai.

Point of clarification: This warning was inclusive of these petty back and forth bickerings about who's posts are on topic / trolling.

Everyone: enough with the petty personal back and forths. This has been going on for days and weeks and months between 4-6 of you. Enough already. Use the ignore feature. Stay on topic. I do not want to go to any additional levels of moderating on this; please adjust behaviors.

This is the 3rd time I've jumped in a thread in 3 days asking for this stuff to stop. This is the final warning.
