A report published late last year by the Umbrella Coalition, a coalition of 13 local & national nonprofit & civil rights groups found that about 190 NOPD officers had complaints of this nature filed against them with the department’s public integrity unit. https://t.co/qGEEsOmdGZ

In another, an officer obtained the phone number of a child who ran away from home. Once the girl returned home, the cop continued to text her and sent her a request on social media, which made the child feel uncomfortable. The girl said she did not wish to be contacted by him.

Reports of sexual misconduct by NOPD are likely undercounted, since few survivors of sexual violence report what happened to them generally. Victims of sexual misconduct by police are likely to be especially discouraged when asked to report their stories to the police itself.

NOPD said from 2014-2020, "97% of complaints alleging sexual or intimate violence were either unfounded, exonerated, or not sustained.”
— Meg O'Connor (@megoconnor13) March 8, 2023
7 cops were charged w infractions from battery to sexual misconduct, which led to termination or the officer resigning under investigation.
“This is just the latest slap in the face,” said Katie Hunter-Lowrey with @LSReform. “Policymakers don’t care about crime victims. If they did, they wouldn’t continue to allocate resources to an entity that doesn’t solve these problems and actually perpetuates sexual violence.”

According to FBI data, 712 rapes were reported to the NOPD in 2020. The NOPD cleared 67 of them. Overall, only 39 people were arrested for rape in New Orleans in 2020. https://t.co/qGEEsOmdGZ

Imagine being sentenced to 25 yrs to life bc cops didn’t like you, showed a witness a photo of someone else with your name, & then arrested you for a murder you didn’t commit. And the DA & judge knew about the deception. The NYPD did it to Sheldon Thomas. https://t.co/BFJYi7PiEn

Tell me why a Bucyrus, Ohio police officer admitted to several sexual offenses with a 4 year old (during an interview for a job with Ohio Highway Patrol in Oct ‘22) & was allowed to RESIGN & is, as of now, facing zero criminal charges?

Newspapers won’t even name him. 🙃

Sorry, bud. The story is a little light on the specific details you crave and desire, but does this help? From Bucyrus police internal investigation list of charges:
9 (of 10): Conduct unbecoming of an officer or employee: In the highway patrol interview, the officer admitted to touching the buttocks of a 4-year-old girl at a cookout at a friend's house in 2017. The officer said the touching was outside of the clothing in a sexual manner. He advised that he had been drinking. The BPD report said the incident is currently under investigation by the Mansfield Police Department.

You want to know exactly what he did to a 4 year old? Why?
Wait - don't answer. We can all make assumptions (similar to what you do when you always assume cops are right).
