They knew it was a politically difficult issue for them, so they tried to act like everything was fine. Pretty common story.

From 2021 to 2023 unauthorized immigrants had increased from 10.5 million to 14.0 million. By October 2024 The Economist was reporting that the US economy was the envy of the world.

Household (consumer) debt as percent of GDP was a record low in Q1 2024. Lower still in Q1 2025.

Bankruptcy filings were lower in 2022 than any year since at least 2007.

Cut them all. If we can't process this innocent and completely lawful and by the book visa applicant in 35 years, something is wrong with these immigration employees!

The headline does not suggest green card processing took 35 years for the government. Sometimes people wait that long to get citizenship. I know 2 people who waited longer than 35 years with green cards before getting citizenship. This includes a woman who got citizenship after 50 years with a green card for the specific purpose of voting for HIlary Clinton. They say people weren't excited about Hillary but that is only because the culture doesn't care about old ladies.

Sure. I just fail to see how a balanced story would justify taking a woman who has no criminal history and is clearly trying to become a legal resident, whisking her away, and placing her in some far-off detention center. How is that a good immigration process?

Sure. I just fail to see how a balanced story would justify taking a woman who has no criminal history and is clearly trying to become a legal resident, whisking her away, and placing her in some far-off detention center. How is that a good immigration process?


She likely has a criminal history, but it may just be for immigration violations.

Being in the country without authorization is a civil offense and not a criminal offense. But she had a green card so they are just guessing at justifications at this point. They don't care.

I believe she was supposed to be having her final interview for a green card. Maybe didn't have one yet.

That's why these ICE guys are hanging out at immigration courts now: to nab the people who are trying to follow the process and take them away.

She scheduled an appointment to get a green card and ICE tricked her and arrested her. She had an outstanding deportation order.

Now we're concerned about crime? ROFL Importing violent gangs, decriminalizing petty theft, installing Soros judges who allow cashless bail for repeat violent offenders, facilitating drug and sex trafficking, yeah, none of that promotes crime. And they'll really get a handle on crime in NYC when Mamdani gets in there and dismantles the police force. It's gonna be mostly peaceful and totally lit!

But hey, if clamping down on crime is what you want, I suggest we go after the ones who attack law enforcement like "la maggie" here...
