This is not America but it was America when the previous administration was paying to bring in millions of economic migrants? Nice definition of America you got there.

There's a very simple solution to this. Anyone resisting or interfering with ICE operations gets a one-way ticket to El Salvador. Stop resisting and comply. Your crowd is the one escalating this farce.

Serious question: when does this reasoning stop justifying every last breach of civil rights the current administration is going to engage in? Surely at some point "but the Democrats" is no longer a valid response?

When people like you admit that importing millions of economic migrants and giving them wads of cash was an insane, subversive policy that only a tiny minority of anti-American radicals wanted...
When you admit that all the lies about the border, how it couldn't be closed, how illegals weren't voting etc...
When you admit that facilitating the sex trafficking of tens of thousands of migrant children was seriously ****ed up and those who facilitated that crime or looked the other way deserve prosecution to the fullest extent of the law...
When you admit that there would be no need for aggressive ICE tactics if those who have no legal right to be here complied with the law and those who obstruct ICE got out of the way....
When you recognize all these policies were illegal and violated the rights and well-being of actual Americans, people our leaders swore to protect...

...then I might actually be hear what you have to say about these totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things unseemly tactics.

And we all know that this will never happen.

Like, me personally? I need to admit all that?

I didn't realize I had such power.

You have the power to acknowledge the fact that the Democrats purposely allowed foreigners to enter the country illegally by the millions while gaslighting American citizens with the help of the media into thinking otherwise.

Others will then take your comments about the civil rights and liberties of these illegal immigrants more seriously.

Democrats did allow the border to get out of control during Biden's term, yes. I don't know about "purposely." Seems like it was more about negligence/inaction than anything purposeful.

How so? We were told repeatedly by President Biden, Vice President Harris, Attorney General Garland, and Homeland Secretary Mayorkas that the border was secure.

Not only did illegals cross the border by foot, they were also flown in.

If this was negligence, why didn't anyone in the Democratic Party hold their own leadership accountable over the past four years?

They knew it was a politically difficult issue for them, so they tried to act like everything was fine. Pretty common story.

Exactly, the Democrats wanted to flood the country with illegals for political reasons but they couldn't state their intentions due to political reasons.

No, they were getting pressure from the base to do everything "opposite of Trump" so they did that on immigration, and it wasn't working so well but they couldn't admit it.

In 2021 as Biden opened the economy back up, there was a severe worker shortage. It was major news and a problem I was hearing about from all the small business owners and executives I know. Then immigration resolved that problem and America had the strongest recovery in the world.

You never hear about the worker shortage anymore because it is inconvenient for Trump and his corporate news caretakers.

Did all these small business owners then hire illegal immigrants under the table? How did they advertise these jobs? How much did they pay them? Was it cash? What kind of jobs did they do?

Who cares? There were job openings and hard working people wanting to come to America to fill them and make America great again.

I call BS. Anecdote with no facts.

You fascists should try real news for a change. November 2021 had record quits of 4.5 million and December 2021 had record job openings of 11.4 million.

From 2021 to 2023 unauthorized immigrants had increased from 10.5 million to 14.0 million. By October 2024 The Economist was reporting that the US economy was the envy of the world.

There never was and never will be a severe worker shortage in this country. What there was in actuality was a decent paying job shortage and people rightly refused to take bad jobs for slave labor wages, which is why dishonest people like you are always quoting job numbers and not poverty measures or consumer debt or bankruptcy filings. Biden's economy was a piece of **** and your ****ty party got voted out of office because of it.

Now, is there still a decent paying job shortage? Of course there is. Does the Trump administration actually care about creating a smaller labor force that would create upward pressure on wages? Of course not. They're just doing a standard brown people bad playbook. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't want slave labor options taken away from industry.

The poverty rate in 2023 was the 2nd lowest rate ever.

Household (consumer) debt as percent of GDP was a record low in Q1 2024. Lower still in Q1 2025.

Bankruptcy filings were lower in 2022 than any year since at least 2007.

Which is why the formerly Golden Stare leads the nation in poverty. It's simple Supply and Demand. When you bring in tens of millions of illegal workers in the low end, and hundreds of thousands (or more) on the top end, you drive down wages and job stability. Excess regulations also pushed a lot of manufacturing jobs to Texas, Florida, Mexico, China, and some out of business.

President Trump has focused on deportation, and over 1.6 million self deported (2 million gone) over 250 days.

In addition, White House: Blue-Collar Wage Growth Sees Largest Increase in Nearly 60 Years Under Trump.

Auto plants are expanding, our first new aluminum smelter in Oklahoma in 45 years, AI Dara centers chip production, and possibly even ship building. Over $10 Billion in investments gave also been committed.

Challenges have included Biden's War, the Treasury, revised Biden job growth at zero over four years (2 million Fake jobs), and a sluggish worldwide economy.

I provide data while others provide commentary. Catastrophic poverty rate? Biden's was lower than Bush's bubble year of 2006. It was the 2nd lowest year on record. If that is catastrophic then you all are morons pushing propaganda.

What's actually outrageous is arresting and jailing people who are seemingly trying to do it the "right way."

The headline does not suggest green card processing took 35 years for the government. Sometimes people wait that long to get citizenship. I know 2 people who waited longer than 35 years with green cards before getting citizenship. This includes a woman who got citizenship after 50 years with a green card for the specific purpose of voting for HIlary Clinton. They say people weren't excited about Hillary but that is only because the culture doesn't care about old ladies.

Sure. I just fail to see how a balanced story would justify taking a woman who has no criminal history and is clearly trying to become a legal resident, whisking her away, and placing her in some far-off detention center. How is that a good immigration process?

I believe she was supposed to be having her final interview for a green card. Maybe didn't have one yet.

That's why these ICE guys are hanging out at immigration courts now: to nab the people who are trying to follow the process and take them away.

Assuming the headline isn't misleading, I am glad government employees are being cut. Forcing someone to wait 35 years for green card processing is outrageous.

I don't follow how would cutting more government employees help this process go faster?

What's actually outrageous is arresting and jailing people who are seemingly trying to do it the "right way."

You're running up against the MAGA fevered dream of fixing everything by destroying it all. There is no plan beyond that. To hell with the consequences.

He is also running up against my skepticism and sarcasm when presented only one side of the story.

So I'm guessing your point is that it's the old woman's fault for not getting citizenship before now?

It would just be nice to get a balanced story on this.

Sure. I just fail to see how a balanced story would justify taking a woman who has no criminal history and is clearly trying to become a legal resident, whisking her away, and placing her in some far-off detention center. How is that a good immigration process?

She likely has a criminal history, but it may just be for immigration violations.

Let's lay down a marker here that when I say "criminal" in this context it means "besides illegal immigration."

Being in the country without authorization is a civil offense and not a criminal offense. But she had a green card so they are just guessing at justifications at this point. They don't care.

I believe she was supposed to be having her final interview for a green card. Maybe didn't have one yet.

That's why these ICE guys are hanging out at immigration courts now: to nab the people who are trying to follow the process and take them away.

She scheduled an appointment to get a green card and ICE tricked her and arrested her. She had an outstanding deportation order.

Now we're concerned about crime? ROFL Importing violent gangs, decriminalizing petty theft, installing Soros judges who allow cashless bail for repeat violent offenders, facilitating drug and sex trafficking, yeah, none of that promotes crime. And they'll really get a handle on crime in NYC when Mamdani gets in there and dismantles the police force. It's gonna be mostly peaceful and totally lit!

But hey, if clamping down on crime is what you want, I suggest we go after the ones who attack law enforcement like "la maggie" here...

"she (and others in her group) had been driving erratically around the ICE vehicles, boxing them in, coming inches from them and behaving in a highly threatening fashion even running red lights and driving the wrong way on one way streets to do so before they, wait for it, rammed the ICE vehicle with multiple vehicles of their own. (report on this)
"la maggie," as she is known, was also armed with a 9mm handgun.
this was not "ICE shooting down some nice lady in cold blood." she quite literally and unequivocally violently attacked them."

Btw, excellent article on anti-ICE tactics. So tired. Enforce the law, Bukele style. Remove corrupt judges. And use RICO to go after the money funding this anarchy. Enough is enough.

Ah, so you do want authoritarian rule. Thanks for confirming!
