"I will have Elon Musk run out of here by Inauguration Day," Bannon told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera this week. "He will not have a blue pass to the White House, he will not have full access to the White House, he will be like any other person."

"He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down," Bannon added. "Before, because he put money in, I was prepared to tolerate it; I'm not prepared to tolerate it anymore."

This is funny. I wonder who 88, 34, 003 and Goggles will side with.

It's actually funnier to see who the TDS crowd sides with, Bannon or Musk.

Who said there is honor among thieves? Just wait until Stephen Miller is weaponized. Add to the mix the stable of unstables Trump has appointed to his cabinet and other important government posts and when they go off on one another it's going to be like a patient butcher knife fight in the kitchen at Bellevue Hospital.

Bannon probably thinks he's tough, just having been released from jail or prison or wherever he was. And maybe he is kinda tough, I dunno. But somebody with 100 billion dollars can buy a helluva lot more toughness.

A healthy democracy needs an opposition to keep the ruling party in check. But the opposition is in shambles. When was the last time the Democratic Party has been this weak?

President Trump has announced the creation of the External Revenue Service. A collection and enforcement mechanism to gather income from tariffs, duties and other sources that will pay for access to the U.S. consumer market.

It is possible this new ERS was created to cover the de minimis loophole created about a hundred years ago so that small-value items weren't taxed. We now receive one billion of these untaxed shipments every year. (Max value went from $200 to $800.)

I'd confirm all of Trump's people without questioning them. The American people have spoken. It is their Fellini film every bit as much as it is Trump's.

The ultimate guardrail is the techno-oligarchs because if they feel their world order is being threatened, they will make appropriate and permanent "adjustments."

lol this one's a laugher. The external revenue service. That's what's going to happen when tariffs hit the US economy. That giant whooshing sound you here is all the revenue going to external foreign sources. Thanks Orangey. Trump inheriting a great economy. He's gonna tank it in under 5 months.

Reuters: "The conservative-leaning Tax Foundation estimates that a 20% universal tariff on all imports into the U.S. would generate $4.5 trillion over 10 years before negative economic effects that would cut net collection to $3.3 trillion over a decade. This compares to IRS gross tax collections of $4.69 trillion in fiscal 2023 alone...."

"Trump has proposed a 10% tariff on global imports, a 25% punitive duty on imports from Canada and Mexico until they clamp down on drugs and migrants crossing borders into the U.S. and a 60% tariff on Chinese goods."

Are you really this stupid?

The revenue from tariffs on Chinese imports come from the importers, not China. Importing businesses pay tariffs and decide whether to pass any portion of the cost on to consumers through higher prices.

This is basic Econ.1
Duh.

Referencing a company run by Obama, Google, and Brookings Institute staffers. Typical.

In response to President Trump's tariffs, China devalued their currency and we labeled them a Currency Manipulator. American consumers (importers) didn't eat the tariffs, China did.

Average YOY Inflation

RNixon - 5.7%
G.Ford - 8.0%
JCarter - 9.9%
Reagan - 4.6%
Bush Sr - 4.3%
Clinton - 2.6%
Bush Jr. - 2.8%
Obama - 1.4%
Trump - 1.9% - heavy China tariffs, no inflation
Biden - 5.2% / (9.1% stretch)

Biden largely kept Trump's tariffs in place.

Cool story bro.

Although China had devalued its currency, it was such a small devaluation that it was too small to make any difference. Never mind that Trump has flip-flopped on claiming China is a currency manipulator.

You really are quite gullible to drinking Orange-Ade.

We imported deflation. U.S. consumer prices in 2019 showed that prices of imported goods actually declined despite Trumps increased China and EU tariffs. A 2024 report from CPA takes a look at the impact to Chinese exports to the U.S.

https://prosperousamerica.org/section-301-tariffs-reduced-u-s-dependence-on-china-decoupling-has-begun/

President Trump said China was a threat, and his tariffs changed the landscape.

"Since the Section 301 tariffs were imposed, the share of imports from China has steadily declined from 21.6% in 2017 the year prior to the tariffs to 16.5%, a decline of 5.1%. No other country has lost as much share of total U.S. import penetration over the past five years."

Inflation by Administration
Item .................. Trump.......Biden

Energy ...................-0.7%..........34.3%
Gas.........................-6.8%..........38.2%
Electricity................4.5%..........31.3%
Transportation......2.1%...........31.1%
Hotels...................-15.1%..........42.4%
Groceries.................5.9%..........22.1%
Food at K-12 ..........-9.3%..........69.7%
Apparel...................-7.0%..........15.1%
Nonpresc drugs.....-0.8%..........16.6%

Another success for President Trump: food prices had very low year-over-year inflation 0.5 percent. Thanks to low energy costs, and the fracturing of Big Ag's hold on the farm production and the export.

Another cool story bro.

The low retail food prices of 2016 and 2017 were the result of the massive increase in U.S. production of Ag commodities across the board in 2015 and oil prices that were as low as $33 for WTI.

Trump wasn't even in office in 2015.
Duh.
