This is wrong and stupid. They picked the wrong person this time. It won't be able to be hid under the rug.

This film also hasn't been able to find an American distributor, despite winning an Oscar. It's only been seen where it's been sold directly to independent theaters. No streaming deal either.

I don't know why Israelis have such power to suppress media here, but this is a pretty clear example.
This is not only false, but an antisemitic trope. Congratulations on finally revealing your bigotry.

And remarkably, you managed to see the film so apparently it was not suppressed despite your conspiracy theory about the Jews errrrrr "Israelis". Imagine that.

There is a film called October 8 which addresses the rise of antisemitism after 10/7 - a pro-Isreali errr Jewish viewpoint. It too struggled to find a distributor because it turns out . . . distributors and major movie chains don't want the headache of showing these films. That is in no small part because of the violent Hamas supporting mobs attracted to such events. It has nothing to do with the "Israelis" and your cockamamie antisemitic conspiracy theory. If the Jews errr "Israelis" controlled the media, how did the film win an Oscar?

You should go see October 8 - the quoted post really suggests you'd benefit from it.
Ahh yes, the same old tired argument resurfaces. "You said bad things about Israel! You must hate Jews!" Sure. Moving on . . .

I will probably see October 8 at some point, though I don't know what you're talking about in terms of distribution. It was picked up by the same American company (Briarcliff) that distributed Michael Moore films and other documentaries. It played at AMC Theaters. Now available to purchase on Amazon, Apple, all the major on-demand video platforms. Pretty typical release for a doc.

No Other Land, despite winning the Oscar, could find no such national distribution and has no commercial streaming release. That is not normal. No, it has not been fully prevented from being seen (I was able to go see it at a local independent theater in San Francisco, where the local politics are probably more favorable), but it has been more actively suppressed. I can't think of any explanation for that other than political pressure, and it seems to me that this is largely downstream from our government's relationship with Israel.

This is what it's all about, the ironies and parallels with the late 1930s are striking.

Muay Thai may be preferable to Krav Maga for those seeking effective striking skills, clinch work, and a dynamic, stand-up fighting style.

*Not sure either was displayed in whatever that was.

No Other Land is by pretty tame and not controversial. The usual rousting of Palestinians and taking land but positively quaint compared to mass starvation and killing babies.

Yes, it's about the West Bank before the war. Not Gaza.

The director of No Other Land was spared from being killed by his international notoriety, other local journalists, filmmakers, photographers aren't so lucky.

Almost all the violence in the pro-Palestinian protests has been from the zionist side, especially on campuses like UCLA, where the zionists beat up the student campers, and then the cops arrested the campers.

The Berkeley City Council is pathetic. After seven hours of debate they passed a resolution calling for empathy- e..g. continued slaughter

"PEP" hypocrites.
Quote:

Progressive except Palestine (also known as PEP, alternatively written as progressive except for Palestine) is a phrase that refers to organizations or individuals who describe themselves politically as progressive, liberal, or left-wing but who do not express pro-Palestinian sentiment or do not comment on the IsraeliPalestinian conflict. Pro-Palestinian advocates regard PEP as a type of political hypocrisy and an example of anti-Palestinianism

I don't know why anyone should give a s*** what resolution a local city council passes about Palestine.

The fact that you disrespect and mock Pope Francis indicates that you have no real ideology. You are just a sh@it posting troll.

"Last November, Pope Francis suggested that the international community should examine whether Israel's military offensive in Gaza should be classed as genocide an allegation Israel has vehemently denied.
Earlier this year, he called the humanitarian situation in Gaza "shameful".

Palestinians have spoken warmly of how much his expressions of empathy had given them hope.
As a sign of how highly they respected the Pope, the Palestinian Authority is sending Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa to the funeral."

No sane City Council should ever opine on US foreign policy. It's virtue signalling voters who want their City Councils to back their own politics on both sides of the aisle that call for this kind of stuff. If you're on a City Council, all you're accomplishing with resolutions like this is alienating half of your voters.

The Israeli genocide is disgusting, but the way to oppose it is to hurt Israel where it matters by not buying their products and voting out all incumbents that accept AIPAC money and letting your Congressman know that you will vote them out for being disgusting genocide supporters.

Also in other news, the NY Times has a video analysis confirming yet another Israeli war crime.

No sane City Council, yes but this is Berkeley which is always opining about injustices of the world. But after eight hours of debate to not even agree on a cease fire- a position so lame and meaningless that even Kamala supports it- shows that what is really going on here is religious/ethnic identity politics. Berkeley has a large Jewish population and must protect their children from having their feelings hurt by association with bombed dead babies

Israel threatens to flatten Gaza

"Israel's Security Cabinet approved a plan last night to reoccupy and eventually flatten all of Gaza if a new hostage-and-ceasefire deal isn't reached soon, Axios' Barak Ravid reports.

The plan calls for demolishing any buildings left standing and displacing virtually the entire population of 2 million people to a single "humanitarian area."

The latest: The Security Cabinet is using President Trump's visit to the Middle East next week as a deadline for a new deal.

Many Israeli officials see this operation as a nuclear option and would much prefer a deal in the next two weeks.

Trump isn't playing an active role in efforts to reach a ceasefire, and has effectively given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a green light to do as he sees fit, Israeli officials say.

The big picture: The return to full-fledged war would come after Israel already cut off all supplies of food, water and medicine to civilians in Gaza after the ceasefire broke down two months ago.

Netanyahu has rejected any proposal that ends the war entirely, pressing Hamas instead to sign a shorter-term agreement.

Israeli officials hope the threat of a large-scale invasion will press Hamas to accept a deal on Israel's terms."

….but, but, but, the proportionality of response element of the Just War Theory has no relevance here. Killing every last Palestinian is moral if that is what it takes to destroy Hamas. Right? …..or is there a casualties number that crosses the line into immorality?*

This looks like a makeshift hospital, with the emaciated child being cared for by a medic. The lighting looks real.

No offense, but this is the same crap that was posted about the first few babies that were killed by the Israelis, when people were claiming that the babies were dolls. Same case here, why would they have to resort to photoshopping a picture when they have thousands of emaciated children in that enclave??I f you want to see starving Gaza children, you can scroll here

Just yesterday Witkoff dismissed reports of a rift between Trump and Netanyahu and laid the blame for the ongoing war on Hamas:

There's some talk about that (Israel doing a ground invasion because won't release hostages) but I hope it doesn't have to happen. We have a deal on the table that Hamas could have taken six weeks ago.*** Hamas should say yes to it. *** Hamas is going to have to demilitarize, and they're going to have to quickly get to the terms we've set forth and we hope that they do." Asked why Hamas is not accepting the terms of the negotiation, Witkoff said he cannot logically explain "their intransigence" *** "I wish as a sensible person that I could explain their intransigence," Witkoff said. "I wish I could. But I can't."

Remember when Israel vehemently denied targeting a hospital in Gaza, then falsely claiming there was a Hamas tunnel inside... They've bombed every hospital in Gaza since.
