Well it's 2024 … name where republicans have supported policies combatting any of the governmental policies on that list

President Trump and the GOP pushed and signed Opportunity Zones to revitalize blighted, often urban, areas.

President Trump secured the border via 93 tactics (Biden-Harris removed them).

President Trump got Mexico's AMLO to put 20,000 soldiers on the border.

President Trump built 400 miles of 30' Wall to help dmsecure our border.

President Trump and the GOP funded HBCU for ten years.

President Trump and the GOP passed the First Step Act to release certain long-term non-violent offenders.

The GOP passed the first set of Civil Rights laws by themselves.

More GOP members voted for the second set of Civil Rights laws than DemoKKKrats.

Republicans and Democrats have voted for Trillions upon Trillions in programs to remedy past injustices.

Many of those failed programs were designed and implemented by Democrats.

It's interesting that Black income levels rose at a faster rate before the second Civil Rights Acts, than after. The Free Market worked.

The average rent for a 1 bedroom apartment is $2500/month. The housing wage in Oakland is $40.88/hr. That means there is no housing available to working people in this city.

Crime and homelessness will continue until lack of a livable wage is dealt with no matter who the mayor DA or chief of Police is.

Entry-level workers typically live with family or roommates. Drug addicts have made poor choices, some masking childhood trauma. Folks who can't afford the big city move to Fairfield, Vallejo, etc.

But rational economic behavior was thrown out the window when we imported 50 million illegal immigrants and millions of future millionaires from China and India.

Alameda County DA Pamela Price, supporters rally against recall

https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/pamela-price-anti-recall-rally-19849557.php

*I won't be surprised if Price gets a Bon Voyage present: a lawsuit from the prosecutor she filed bogus charges against.
* I heard the overall voter turnout that installed her as DA was around 30%. She got 53% of that or 16% support of eligible voters. The overall turnout in the General Election should be sizable because of the tRump hate in Alameda County so it could be a landslide farewell for her.

So.. why you're seeing more people on the streets. No one can afford 8% rent increases year after year when wages are stagnant. This is the root of the housing crisis that needs to be addressed. Landlords are getting rich off human suffering and destroying communities.

A big chunk of the 'root cause' of the housing crisis is upwards of 50 million illegal immigrants entering our country. Those individuals often triple or quadruple up in apartments and homes, driving up rent prices. On the top end, future millionaires imported from India and China compete w Americans.

Real estate investment groups also sap up housing, some rented out, some pulled off the market.

Zoning demands, green energy scams, and other government rules and gimmicks further complicate housing.

Why don't we build some new cities, and rebuild Stockton and Detroit? But gov't policies helped create those wastelands.

And if you mandate that a high school aged host at a restaurant that's sole job is to take reservations and seat people make a "livable" wage, you won't ever see another restaurant in downtown Oakland again. Entry level positions are not meant to be self-supportive.

Why do you think so many restaurants have gone to a cafeteria style seating with no hosts or waitresses where you simply get a number and pick up your meal when a number is called?

It's because the mandated hourly wage increases by the State (that have nothing to do with a worker's productivity) are KILLING off the small business owner and restaurateur.

This crisis is far more complicated than just increasing people's wages.

Yes - in fact Kamala Harris has told us that not only must we increase people's wages by legal mandate, we must also substantially increase taxes on corporations and the "rich". According to her and her supporters, we also need more regulation of businesses and to have the government police misinformation.

That should solve the problem. Fortunately, California (Newsome), Los Angeles, Oakland, SFO, NYC, DC, Chicago and other dem controlled governments are well down the pathway of implementing these wise policies. No doubt a solution is at hand.

Something has to be done because if more working people continue to become homeless what happens then? At the point when the masses no longer have hope will the American society be past the point if no return?

Nobody working 40 hours a week should be struggling for basic subsistence.

I went from seeing cars and RVs that people were living in removed, to then see more and more people sleeping on the street. Without PSH the prison bill is going pail in comparison to policy that makes sure working people can afford a decent place to live. The jails/prisons cannot hold all the homeless and criminals… nor can we afford it 40-50k a head per year. Now that homeless is considered a crime what happens when that person is released? No work because of the fines and criminal record so they can't work and even if they could they don't make 3xs the rent to qualify… so back to jail they go for this or that how does that make sense ?

Close the border and immediately start deporting criminal illegal aliens.

We used to have affordable housing in Concord, Antioch, the Canal District of Marin, the Mission District in the City, tye lowlands of Oakland, etc.

Then we let in 30+ million illegal immigrants, and Biden-Harris attracted / flew in another 10-20 million.

That affordable housing is now gone, and residents are hooked on hard drugs smuggled through our southern border.

Increased Demand - increases price. Basic economics.

Decrease illegal immigration, employers will increase wages and perks; Real Wages rose under President Trump, the first time in decades.

Hard drugs are flowing through our porous southern border.

Excess capacity and traffickers / dealers (cartels) are making hard drugs plentiful, cheap, and easy to access. (Former Democrat Latino head Sheriff of LA County.)

Such policies have now led to nine Starbucks closing in The City - those menial jobs that liberal elites hate, gone.

SF GATE: Untenable': Berkeley Bowl, Boichik decry ballot measure that could ruin them

"If passed, Measure GG would, beginning in January, impose a tax of $2.96 for every 100 cubic feet of gas consumed for buildings in Berkeley that are 15,000 square feet or larger. That includes restaurants, grocery stores and other businesses that use natural gas for heating, cooking and refrigeration.

"Natural gas costs fluctuate, but in the Berkeley area, the range is $1.50-$2.60 per therm. As the measure states, the $2.96-per-therm tax would increase by 6% each year, plus inflation, expiring in 2050....

"Barry Braden, CEO and co-founder of Berkeley-headquartered Fieldwork Brewing Company, predicts he'd have to move his production and manufacturing out of the city where it got its start nearly a decade ago. "It's a disaster. It's just bad policy," he said. "It's an immediate increase of $110,000 across the year for us."

"Fieldwork has already moved 60% of production and 12 warehouse operations and sales jobs out of Berkeley due to not just the rising costs of doing business there, Braden said, but also the persistence of homeless encampments that are impeding traffic to the brewery and other businesses and posing health and safety concerns."
