If they arrest the perps or confiscate cars, they'll be accused of racism - if they're POC.
I brought a friend to a taqueria on International late one night, and some loud donuts were spun in the middle of the intersection a block or two from where we ate.
What's at play? Youth (youth is invincible), need for excitement (natural), no respect for laws or safety, some only modestly employed (so they can stay up late), no healthy hobbies, no Father's, and no vision / plan for the future.

sorry, nope, literally the reason this world is cooked is slow motion but relentless CO2 trends, and more importantly nobody (in power) cares

Yeah! Controlled burns don't release ANY CO2 into the atmosphere!movielover said:smh said:

Common sense leaders would thin forests, cut fire trails, conduct controlled burns, fill reservoirs, hire competent managers, and think proactively.
That would have prevented Trillions of tons of CO2 from needlessly being dumped into our atmosphere the past three decades.
It would also mean healthy forests, cheaper lumber, and an established - though smaller - lumber industry.

🇺🇸 Two Chinese vloggers were filming in downtown LA when they were threatened by homeless men. Moments later, a kind homeless woman warned them not to stay near Skid Row - it’s filled with drug addicts, some enabled by government-distributed drug kits.

Instead of being fired, Dr. Kyla Johnson-Trammell should be celebrated as OUSDs longest-serving superintendent who improved outcomes, exited state receivership, and brought steadfast leadership & commitment to Oakland’s students, families, educators. https://t.co/TdQxfQcC6C

Hard to say why they had to move to get rid of her so early and potentially pay a buyout (her contract said she was going to leave in a year or two anyway), but if you look at the voting it's the four teachers' union backed candidates that voted for it, which indicates that it's the union that wanted it. Presumably they want the board to install a new, more union-friendly supe.
Honestly, the more I've looked into this district the more I think that union is an absolute menace. They worked hard to prevent schools from reopening after COVID, they staged a two-week strike for totally vague reasons two years ago (even though the district had already offered the raises they wanted), and are now angling to do another one because they claim the district wouldn't produce some documents in time. I've also seen reports of their leaders harassing principals in their offices, blocking doors and trying to prevent them from leaving.
I will say that nothing turned people in big cities against teachers' unions more than the end of COVID. In most places that reopened schools very late, a teachers' union was the main reason. Democratic politicians have not yet caught up to this shift.oski003 said:sycasey said:

Is there a link to the list of "stuff" that inspires the world to hate the Republican Party? Asking for a friend.
