I am all for getting Hamas out of power. I do not think the current strategy is advancing any further to that goal.

Good to support the nation of Israel. Bad to support their current government and its ill-advised and ultimately counter-productive response to October 7. All those people really need to agree on some sort of two-state solution and quit fighting all the time.

I actually think the Biden Administration has handled this pretty well. What people don't realize (and was not advertised) is that Biden was trying to get Netanyahu to adopt a more measured response, starting way back in early-mid October. (Um, at least I think he was... I hope he was... pretty sure.) But Israel's been too stubborn. They may end up regretting their response.

If Israel were Russia under Putin, the tankies would show up to tell you how wrong you are.

They would tell you that Israel has a little thing called escalatory dominance and that Hamas has no hope to win this war and should have surrendered already. In fact, they would say, Hamas would have surrendered if not for Boris Johnson or Joe Biden. They would also tell you that Palestine doesn't exist and in fact never existed and they would cite some old maps.

Next they would say that we should stop giving any humanitarian aid to Palestine because Hamas ends up stealing it and selling it off so that Hamas's leaders can live like billionaires (because they are billionaires) in Qatar.

They would also remind you that Hamas is an anti-semitic organization whose goal is to destroy Israel and genocide the Jewish people and has been from the very beginning. And obviously they would note that this war was started by Hamas and Palestine, and that Israel is acting in actual self-defense. Israel still faces rockets fired from enemies including Palestine virtually every day, as it had been even before this war started.

They would then mention that Hamas makes up casualty numbers and is running an elaborate propaganda campaign.

Finally, they would tell you that Israel isn't responsible for any civilian deaths because Hamas doesn't wear uniforms or identify itself as military in any way and uses women and children as human shields.

Not all of the things above would be true, but they would all be more true than the analogous arguments the tankies continue to disingenuously make about the Ukraine war. The reason they are not here defending Israel the way they do Russia is because Putin supports Iran and Iran supports the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jewish people.

Both the Ukraine and Hamas wars are humanitarian disasters with far too many victims. They have a lot in common, unfortunately. What they don't have in common is with respect to which party can unilaterally end the war. Israel could stop defending itself against Hamas and Palestine but it would not end the military hostilities because Hamas would still exist and would still continue to attack Israel. If Hamas surrendered, the war would be over. Similarly, if Putin withdrew his troops, the war would literally be over the same day. Ukraine does not pose a threat to Russia, never attacked Russia before the war and would not attack Russia after the war ended.

Yet, because Putin's propaganda is so effective, you have his useful idiots arguing the exact opposite of what common sense would say.

Biden & the Dems want it both ways.

They want all the $$$ from AIPAC and DMFI, and of course they'll vote for anything that the genocidal monsters want. HOWEVER, they realize that a clear majority of Americans, and an overwhelming majority of Democrats, are horrified by Israel's genocide & ethnic cleansing, and want an immediate cease-fire. They've already lost Michigan, a critical swing state, and they're behind Trump in all other swing states.

They keep repeating B.S. about how "upset" Biden is with Netanyahu and Israel's cruelty. All this talk is just that -- all talk, no action. Anyone with half a brain knows that Biden & the Dems WILL NOT cut off Israel's weapons shipments, no matter what.

IF Biden stopped the shipments, AIPAC would be brutal -- they would cut funding from the "Democratic" Party, and throw their full support behind Trump and the GOP, who are even more aligned with Israel's apartheid and oppression of Palestinians.

So Biden will lose. He's already lost Dem voters, and if he stops weapons shipments and calls for a cease-fire, the Party's biggest donors & attack dogs, AIPAC and DMFI and their $100 Million campaign fund, turn against them, probably causing big losses all the way down the ticket.

Israel destroyed Gaza because they wanted to kill a large number of Palestinians, and they wanted to starve out the rest. Hamas wasn't the reason for Israel's ethnic cleansing -- they're the excuse.

When Israel wanted to attack Hamas, they went into the tunnels to attack them -- and they lost about 500 IDF reservists. Then they stopped. They aren't going to "destroy Hamas".

Hundreds of your hamas and islamic jihad friends were killed and captured in shifa hospital after regrouping there. The rest of the losers hiding out in Rafah and the other hospitals will be dealt with eventually. What a great bunch of jihadist waging pals you have.
