Not a peep about deficits and debt 2000-2008, even when Bush signed an unpaid for medicare prescription bill. 2009 and Republicans are like 'but but but fiscal responsibility people!" lmao.
The Dems answer is to spend and hey we'll just tax our way to tranquility.
Both of these ideologies are unpalatable, IMO.
But whose gonna be the party/president to END the party of an inflated and over-leveraged economy, and ballooning deficits? These politicians primary goal (congress) is to keep their seats. Hard to do by telling your constituents you're going to take more and give less. One of the problems with insurmountable deficits and debt is the economy becomes dependent on the stimulus with no pathway to settling the balance sheet.
