In fact, the DeSantis administration ordered some districts, including Duval and Orange, to stop releasing school specific coronavirus information, citing privacy issues."

As a future POTUS, DeSantis is immune to prosecution. All he would need to do is to invoke the 35th Amendment.

I love informing libtards about the law and the way it works and then watching their heads explode!

DeSantis' entire future administration should immune, too. We must not forget that.

" Alabama coach Nick Saban, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, Ohio State coach Ryan Day and Nebraska coach Scott Frost have said their players are, or feel, less at risk of contracting the coronavirus playing football than they would be if the season isn't played."

" In response to a series of questions from ESPN about their COVID-19 testing protocols, almost half of the 65 schools in the Power 5 conferences declined to share data about how many positive tests their programs have had to date. "*

" Many of the schools that declined to give data to ESPN cited federal student privacy laws, university protocols and other confidentiality considerations, although legal experts say those laws shouldn't be applied to such a request because the data wouldn't identify specific students."

A question to the BI tRumpist peanut gallery:

Is your response to the Brian Klaas tweet above:

1. It's Fake News?

2. The Europeans are under reporting their COVID 19 deaths and the United States is falsely reporting COVID 19 deaths?

3. It's true but we are only losing our most vulnerable so it is like a house cleaning or eugenics experiment (You know, like Sweden purged the rolls of all the elderly that it's socialist state is responsible for);

4. An excuse I haven't thought of here?

I have no idea if those numbers are accurate. But it takes only about 5 seconds of thought to have some kind of explanation for them that has nothing to do with political party. And while Cuomo has made mistakes and gets about a B grade, if you think Santis is anything but a D or F you have blinders on. Will you ever stop seeing every friggin' thing as a tribal war? Santis is an idiot, don't care if he is D or R. How about caring more about ALL Americans health and well being instead oh ooh that Dem messed up (giddy!) and Trump really got them there! Yeah, lies and bullying, my team wins!

Why this is stupid and why you are stupid for posting it.

Cuomo ignored what was going on in China. He then ignored what was going on in Italy. He thought New York superiority and a perceived better healthcare system would save them. He blew that initial decision. Because he was late in responding it exploded. You will not see me saying he did a great job. He did a great job leading the situation when it got out of hand. I like the ones that did a great job before it got out of hand. That said. What were the circumstances like when he might have made a better decision?

To be clear, NYC is hugely population dense. It relies on a packed public transportation system carrying people from high density housing to high density offices on high density subway trains. It is a business and transportation hub having millions of people from Asia and Europe coming through every year. The disease entered the US from Asia and Europe.

Florida is a mostly suburban state carrying people from low density housing to low density work place in mostly cars.

Cuomo's had about a three week window where every day acting swiftly to close everything down would have made a big difference. For the first week of that window, had he done so, he would have been the first government official in America to have taken action. We are talking about a time when there were zero known deaths in the US until their were 10 known deaths, all on the West Coast. He would have been responding purely on the basis of what was happening in China and Italy. In the second week he could have responded, the death toll in the US had risen to 47. NY was basically third to respond behind the Bay Area and Seattle Area. No one else was responding. When Cuomo declared a state of emergency, there were zero deaths in the state. When they shut down colleges and put restrictions on large gatherings there were zero deaths. When they closed all the schools there were 3 deaths. When they issued a statewide stay at home order and closed nonessential businesses there were 157 deaths.

Because of NY being essentially the third place cases arose and the hardest hit, it had no warning (from domestic sources). I believe they should have acted sooner. However, to do so with any major impact they would have had to be by far the best actors. The disease was transmitting and incubating through the NY area before anyone saw cases and deaths rising in the US. The disease takes usually a month to reach death. NY had over 12,000 deaths on April 16 - nearly half their total. That is a month after the first shelter in place orders were issued anywhere in America. That means when the first action anywhere in America was taken, it was already too late for New York. In another week, NY was up to nearly 2/3 their total deaths. By May 16, 90% of their deaths. What hit NY was freight train before anyone realized it was coming. Had Cuomo been literally the first in America to act, he may have cut the death total by like 10%. Maybe 20% on the outside.

Now Florida on the other hand. That was a special kind of stupid (well, not to special as Arizona and Texas probably exceeded the stupid). Covid for Florida was a slow moving iceberg on a clear day. They do not have nearly the population density and the travel from Asia, Europe and for all intents and purposes the Northeast was shut off. They had a full two months to prepare and to watch what happened elsewhere to get ready for their stupidity. A full month and a half after the first shelter in place order, Florida had not been hit hard having about 60 deaths per 1 million population and they had leveled off. Within a month of the start of their major stupidity (and gloating that they had done so great) they were up to 150. Now they are over 620. Basically they had a month and a half to get prepared, see what works and implement. They spent that month and a half saying they aren't NY and California and denying they needed to do anything and 90% of their deaths came after their stupidity could have significantly reduced their death toll.

In early May, the Bay Area and Florida were relatively close in deaths per capita. The Bay Area has much more density and is much more reliant on public transportation. (and got hit first and has much more international travel). Now, Florida is almost 4 times higher.

Your comparison is basically like saying that Cuomo is worse because he got knocked out in the 4th round by Ali and DeSantis lasted 6 rounds against Glass Joe. Cuomo needed to be perfect. DeSantis just needed to keep throwing body blows.

" Mr. Caputo on Sunday complained on Facebook that he was under siege by the media and said that his physical health was in question and his "mental health has definitely failed."
"I don't like being alone in Washington," he said, describing "shadows on the ceiling in my apartment, there alone, shadows are so long." He then ran through a series of conspiracy theories, culminating in a prediction that Mr. Trump will win re-election but his Democratic opponent, Joseph R. Biden Jr., will refuse to concede.

"And when Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin," he said. "The drills that you've seen are nothing." He added: "If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it's going to be hard to get." NY Times

Yes, it appears Caputo, by his own admission, is having his Glenn Beck spiral into madness moment.

It happens to all of them sooner or later. The strain of the 24/7 cycle of lies and deception just rots their brains and nervous systems. Guilfoyle's inflection point was during her speech at the RNC Convention. The poor souls are just too high strung.

Biden was ahead by 6% consistently for a year before Covid hit. He is ahead by 7% now. The polls on the generic Congressional ballot are about half a percent lower for Democrats than when the virus hit. In other words the virus has changed little in the political scene. Not that it matters.

The fact is that big events like this almost always benefit the incumbents because people don't want to change course in the middle of a crisis. If you remember, Trump's approval rating went up significantly for about a week. Then they plummeted back down. The problem is with this principle is the incumbents have to appear competent to keep the advantage. Covid should have ensured Trump would win (and frankly I was afraid it would).
