I just don't understand this partisan divide. "[P]eople who voted for Trump in the 2016 election are around 30% more likely to die from the coronavirus than Democrats. In some swing states from the 2016 election, such as Pennsylvania, if the coronavirus were to run wild, this effect alone could have wiped out up to 30% of the gap between Republicans and Democrats in the 2016 election."
I don't follow Chuck Woolery on Twitter. But a Washington Post reporter I follow tweeted the following 2 tweets into my timeline.

*Since tRump views himself as a war time POTUS, it truly is a gross injustice that he is not subject to being tried before a military tribunal for Dereliction of Duty and with all the appropriate war time penalties that come with a conviction on that charge.
Mitch McConnell will go down as the greatest traitor in US history for allowing this to happen. I hope he rots in hell.

"So much, in other words, for all the sonorous talk of the United States Senate as the world's most august deliberative body: Its most powerful majority leader over the past decade is an errand boy for both an errant billionaire class of campaign donors, and an errant billionaire president."
"Being a Senate majority leader who doesn't care about almost any particular outcome to any particular political issue not directly related to making sure your funders can fund you actually seems to take quite a bit of pressure off, job performancewise. "
"[H]e, at every step on his ascent to power, enable[d] the worst excesses of an increasingly deranged movement of cranks, bigots, grifters, and plutocrats. "

Like most of what happens here it is a media not a factual exercise- and one of limited shelf life- but if you are looking for above average performance in context the Governors of Washington and Kentucky deserve as much and more credit than Newsome and certainly more credit than Cuomo and ... infinitely more than the stooge De Blasio.

I would say there is a pretty large gap between Inslee/Newsom and Cuomo. I don't know why people are thinking Cuomo is doing a good job.calpoly said:How would your rate the president compared to the above three Governors?Anarchistbear said:OdontoBear66 said:He is looking very, very good right now. They are probably comparing Cuomo to tRump so the bar is pretty low.golden sloth said:I would say there is a pretty large gap between Inslee/Newsom and Cuomo. I agree with much of what you say, but I think "sub optimal" initial response is a drastic understatement. It is more like after the 7 turnovers in the first quarter we played really well and only lost by 28. Yeah, it was only one mistake, but it was a huge mistake.NYCGOBEARS said:
Ok, I'm going to say this again. De Blasio is a clown. Zero argument from anyone on that. Cuomo has been incredible during this crisis. While the initial response was sub optimal, since then he's been very good. New York's situation was infinitely more complicated due to density, the sheer numbers of people who travel here internationally, domestically and regionally. That required a multi state response and not just one from New York. It was complicated. Realize that people commute into the city from New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania on a daily basis and that the vast network of travel up and down the eastern seaboard makes the situation here completely different than on the west coast. Inslee is the one stand out star with Newsom also handling this crisis impressively. Cuomo has absolutely managed a far more complicated situation very well.
