Robert Mueller is beyond reproach. If he clears Trump and his campaign, I will apologize to all Trump supporters as well as the Moderators of this board. If he doesn't, all the Left Wing Conspiracy theories and all the Fake News claims in the world will not keep the cell doors from slamming tight each night. Mueller Walked the Walk:
"Mueller enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1968, attending officer candidate school, Army Ranger School and Army jump school.[8] He then served as an officer leading a rifle platoon of the 3rd Marine Division during the Vietnam War;[2] he eventually became aide-de-camp to 3rd Marine Division's commanding general.[8] He received the Bronze Star, two Commendation Medals, the Purple Heart and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.[2]" Wikipedia

It is important that Americans can have confidence in the operation of its government so this is an appropriate move.
I predict now there will be zero evidence of collusion, zero criminal activity against Trump, zero grounds for impeachment but that some small number of people like Flynn will be charged with other matters such as not registering as an agent after receiving funds from Turkey.
Of course there is that that small detail that he did NOT clear Trump and his campaign. But trolling is so much fun!BearForce2 said:bearister said:

Pretty tough to find "no collusion" when you are NOT investigating collusion.
This seems so ridiculous to STILL have to explain the report: "In evaluating whether evidence about collective action of multiple individuals constituted a crime, we applied the framework of conspiracy law, not the concept of "collusion."
What's really cool about this is that doesn't require any belief. It just requires reading.BearForce2 said:blungld said:Of course there is that that small detail that he did NOT clear Trump and his campaign. But trolling is so much fun!BearForce2 said:bearister said:

What's even cooler is that they found an overwhelming amount of evidence of conspiracy and hoped Congress and subsequent investigations would both investigate and prosecute, and despite a corrupt president, Congress, and AG that may still happen after he leaves office. Not Me - Us said:What's really cool about this is that neither a conspiracy, nor collusion was proven.blungld said:

"To clear" means to be free of doubt or suspicion. The president uses the word exonerated and cleared synonymously, as in the investigation found him and his campaign totally innocent--which is flat false. But you know this and you are enjoying to pretend not to know the difference.
The investigation was predicated on the inability to prosecute or charge a sitting president and so there would never be a finding of guilt NO MATTER WHAT. What it found were several crimes it did identify and list, and many actions it found un-prosecutable or not rising to provably criminal. That is not "cleared" or "exonerated," that is "Congress do your job and take this evidence for an impeachment trial because I can not legally do it myself."
You know all of this and yet we have to play this stupid game of word play and parrot the president/Barr misrepresenting-spin propaganda.
Just grabbing a few relevant quotes from the report (read does not CLEAR Trump campaign): "while the investigation identified numerous links between individuals with ties to the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump Campaign, the evidence was not sufficient to support criminal charges. Among other things, the evidence was not sufficient to charge any Campaign official as an unregistered agent of the Russian government or other Russian principal. And our evidence about the June 9, 2016 meeting and WikiLeaks's releases of hacked materials was not sufficient to charge a criminal campaign-finance violation.1 Further, the evidence was not sufficient to charge that any member of the Trump Campaign conspired with representatives of the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 election."
Not cleared: "the investigation established that several individuals affiliated with the Trump Campaign lied to the Office, and to Congress, about their interactions with Russian-affiliated individuals and related matters. Those lies materially impaired the investigation of Russian election interference. The Office charged some of those lies as violations of the federal false-statements statute."
Not cleared: "if we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgment. Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."
Play all the fun internet meme games you want, but Mueller saw this as guilty, but couldn't say it and left Congress to do the dirty work because his hands were tied and a GOP Congress participated in a cover up with Barr and Trump and refused to lose political power by removal though THEY KNEW he was guilty as F--as do you. You know every bit of this, but again, it's so fun to troll and misrepresent the truth, right?

Of course, Republicans will scream CONSPIRACY if Biden holds Trump to account.
If any part of this is "belief" it is the hope that Trump will someday be brought to justice, and NOT a false belief that he guilty as F. Obstruction is indisputable. Campaign finance violation, pretty much indisputable. Tax evasion, probably indisputable. Fraud, probably indisputable. Conspiracy and money laundering, we'll see. To even pretend the man has been ethical or legal, is denial to a stupefying degree.
Trump needs to end up in jail or else the next populist trotted forward to deceive the public and turn this into an Oligarchy will be smarter and slicker than Trump. There needs to be both a price paid for this and election reform, and new limits of presidential power.
So here is a big difference between a "liberal" and a "Trumper," we are willing to legislate against our own self-interest and power.
